Hello dear professor and classmates. This is Wanqiu Liu.

Here are my feedback on the article

Our Future Selves. Our Future Selves is written by Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, and
Jared Cohen, Creative Director of Google. The book focuses on how technology has changed the
world and how it will continue to do so in the future. The authors analyze various aspects of the
changes that technology may bring to human society. Technology has the potential to both
radically change society in a positive way and to bring about negative effects on society. On the
positive side, they argue that technology can make our lives more efficient, productive, and
enjoyable. For example, the advent of smartphones has made it easier for people to
communicate, how advances in artificial intelligence can help us solve complex problems faster
and more accurately, and how virtual reality can help us experience new places and things
without leaving our homes. However, there are two sides to everything, and they acknowledge
that technology has its drawbacks. They point out that technology has the potential to increase
inequality, erode privacy and security, and create new forms of addiction and distraction. Their
fears are borne out by the fact that the rapid growth of the Internet has also facilitated many
illegal acts, such as drug trafficking and human trafficking. Overall, Our Future Selves is a
thought-provoking book that provides insight into how technology shapes our world and the
choices we need to make to create a more positive and sustainable future.

I was impressed by the authors' forward thinking and foresight when I read the book. When they
wrote this, technology was not as advanced as it is today, and many of the technologies they
anticipated are now widely used and have greatly benefited society and civilization. I don't think
technology itself is bad; it's just that people need to use it in the right direction.

Thank you for listening, I am looking forward to hearing suggestions and comments from you.
