Offer Letter
I am writing to advise you that the University is pleased to make you an offer of a place for postgraduate study,
as detailed below. Before providing us with your response, please read this offer together with the University’s
Terms of Postgraduate Offers documentation to which this offer is subject.
Programme details
Conditions
In order to register at the University, you will need to provide/satisfy the following:
• Either [Option 1]: An IELTS result of at least 6.5 overall (with no less than 6.5 in the reading and writing
elements and 6.0 in the speaking and listening elements) or [Option 2]: An internet-based TOEFL result of
at least 93 overall (with no less than 24 in the reading and writing elements and 22 in the speaking and
listening elements) or [Option 3]: A Pearson PTE Academic result of at least 62 overall (with no less than
62 in the reading and writing elements and 55 in the speaking and listening elements).
If you require a Tier 4 (General) Student visa and need to take an English language test as a condition of
admission, we strongly recommend that you book a UKVI IELTS test at a UKVI-approved test centre. You
must declare that the test is for immigration purposes. Details of the UKVI test centres are available on
the UK Visas and Immigration website at https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/uk-visas-and-
immigration
If you require a Tier 4 (General) student visa and have previously studied in the UK on a Tier 4 (General)
student visa, you must also provide us with the details of all of your earlier periods of study in this country.
We will need the name(s) of the institution(s) you studied at, dates and period(s) of study and qualification
(s) awarded. This is a requirement of the UK Home Office and failure to declare any previous UK study
may result in this offer being withdrawn and/or your visa application being refused.
Fees
On the basis of the information in your application, you have been categorised as Overseas for fee purposes.
If you do not believe this is correct, please contact me immediately. The composite registration and tuition fee
for this programme in the academic year 2016/17 will be £14,750.00.
Before you register formally with the University you should make arrangements to ensure you have adequate
financial resources to support you throughout your programme of study. This offer of admission carries no
implication that Lancaster University will provide financial assistance. If you are awarded a scholarship/bursary
this will be communicated separately.
Please note that, in exceptional circumstances, the University may be obliged to cancel a programme of study
and we reserve the right to do so. This might happen if we are unable to provide appropriately qualified
academic staff or if a programme is not deemed viable due to insufficient student numbers.
If you have any queries about the details of this offer, please do not hesitate to contact this office: 01524
510880 or fass-pg-admissions@lancaster.ac.uk. It is not our practice to automatically issue printed copies of
postgraduate study offers; however, should you require a printed copy of this documentation, I would be
pleased to provide one upon request.
I hope that you decide to accept this offer and I look forward to hearing from you. Please provide us with your
response to this offer via the MyLancaster admissions online portal by 14 January 2016. Your offer will lapse
after this date if we do not hear from you.
