6. Rishi Narada is the son of Lord Brahma. The name Narada means the one
who gives knowledge.
7. Narada’s vows include spreading the wisdom about God and inculcate
devotion of God in people.
8. The mantra taught by Narada to reach God in the fastest way is ‘Om Namo
Bhagavate Vasudevaya’. He taught Prahlada, the son of Hiranyakashipu
Adhyatma Vidya (knowledge of the self).
9. Rishi Narada inspired Veda Vyasa to write Bhagavata Purana.
10. Rishi Narada gave saint Thyagaraja his own composition called
Swararnavam which explained the intricacies of classical music.
11. Shivaratri falls on the Magha month which falls in February or March.
12. In Markandeya Purana Shivarati is refered as Kalaratri. In Kashmiri
Shaivism, Shivratri is called as Hara Ratri.
13. Through the 64 steps of Tandava, lord revealed all the knowledge of this
universe and of the highest spiritual attainment.
14. The six inner vows we have to practice during Shivaratri are ahimsa, satya,
anasuyata, kshama, daya and brahmacharya.

Shivarati in the outer level.
