     There are 4 types of preference:

     Like (noun/ verb ing) better than (noun/verb ing)


    Examples:
    He likes milk than chocolate.
    Dannis likes playing football better than swimming.

     Prefer (noun/ verb ing) to (noun/ verb ing)


    Examples:
    She prefers romance to poetry.
    Rendra prefers reading to writing.

     Would rather (noun/ verb 1) than (noun/ verb 1)


    Examples:
    I would rather sing than dance.
    Dannis would rather play badminton than tennis.

     Would prefer (to Verb 1) rather than (Verb 1)


    Examples:
    PREFERENCE I would prefer to go home rather than stay alone.
    Rather than go for a walk, I would prefer to play chess.
