4 First aid measures

Contact with skin
- Remove contaminated clothing immediately and drench affected skin with plenty of water. Then wash with
soap and water
- Contaminated clothing should be laundered before reuse
- Seek medical attention if irritation persists

4 First aid measures (....)
Ingestion
- Do not induce vomiting because of risk of aspiration into the lungs. If aspiration is suspected obtain
immediate medical attention
- If vomiting occurs turn patient on side
- Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person
- Give 200-300mls (half pint) water to drink
- Obtain immediate medical attention
Inhalation
- Remove patient to fresh air
- Seek medical attention if ill effects occur
General
- In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible) (S45)
5 Fire-fighting measures
- Auto-ignition point 230 deg C
- Flash point >85 deg C (CC)
- Smoke from fires is toxic, Nitrogen and carbon oxides may be formed
- In case of fire use water spray or fog, alcohol resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide (S43)
- Vapours are heavier than air and may travel considerable distances to a source of ignition and flashback
- Prevent run off water from entering drains if possible
6 Accidental release measures
Personal Precautions
- Wear protective clothing as per section 8
Environmental Precautions
- Do not flush spilt material into any public water system
- Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination (S57)
- Vapours are heavier than air and may travel considerable distances to a source of ignition and flashback
Immediate Actions
- Contain spillage by any means possible
Clean Up Actions
- Absorb spillage in inert material and shovel up
- Ventilate the area and wash spill site after material pick-up is complete
Special Precautions
- Do not allow to enter public sewers and watercourses
- Wear protective clothing as per section 8
7 Handling and storage
Handling
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes (S24/25)
- Eyewash bottles should be available
- See Section 8
Storage
- Keep only in the original container in a cool, well ventilated place (S3/9/49)
- Keep container tightly closed (S7)
- Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.
8 Exposure controls and personal protection
Exposure Limits
- TLV (TWA) 275 mg/m3 (Naphtha, low boiling, hydrogen treated)
- TLV (TWA) 120 mg/m3 (Kerosine, unspecified)
Exposure controls
- The undiluted product must not be used in a confined space without good ventilation
Occupational exposure controls
- Respiratory protection may be required under exceptional circumstances when excessive air
contamination exists
- Wear suitable protective clothing, including eye/face protection and gloves (neoprene or nitrile
are recommended)
