PROPOSED TOPICS:

1. BEAUTY PALOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

2. DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ONLINE BOOKS STORE
3. AUTOMATED SECONDARY SCHOOL RECORD KEEPING SYSTEM

SUBMITTED: 10th JULY, 2023

PROPOSED TOPIC 1: BEAUTY PALOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

This project is an endeavor to provide a solution to this. The proposed system enables an

administrator to keep track of customer orders and maintaining records of the customers. It can

view the submitted requirements made by the customer. It can also view the reports generated

and can also sent approvals or rejections instantly.

OBJECTIVES:

The following are objectives of the of the study

1. To develop a software capable of logging customers details.

2. To test and validate the effectiveness of the new system

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

1. With improved computerization being involved in the maintenance of user‟s

appointment, customer details. Error and inconsistencies can be kept at per.

2. Validation of data will be ensured only accurate valid and complete data stored in the

database.

3. Easy retrieval or data will be made possible by finding techniques.

4. Report generation will help made it easy to analyze the performance or clinic

Administration.

LITERATURE REVIEW

Within the past few years, there have been a consistent growth of interest in Information and

Communication technology and the consequent changes in our society. Most sectors of the

economy have been influenced in one way or the other mostly due to better access to

information. There has been a shift in trend of the working pattern of the twenty first century

human.

1
The purpose of this research was to create an online beauty parlor management system to

manage the beauty salon. The information presented in this project goes beyond what is

introduced.

This literature review investigates the following areas of research: the definition of beauty parlor,

cosmetology, the history of cosmetology, and the history of beauty parlor.

SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN

The project will be developed using a combination of HTML, CSS, Java Script, and PHP

technologies. In addition, Visual Paradigm for UML was used to draw the UML diagrams shown

in this interim report. The system will provide user friendly simple interface which will help

them to make reliable, quick and effective service to their customers.

PROJECT TOPIC 2: DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ONLINE BOOKS STORE

INTRODUCTION

On-line Book shopping entails buying and selling of books of all sorts with the buyer still

making his choice and making the payment through the internet or through any other computer

network. This pattern of trade conducted through the internet has grown extraordinarily

simultaneously with wide spread use of the internet. This new trend in fact has contributed

immensely to the growth of E-business and particularly in E-education. The number of

transactions grows everyday, spurring and drawing innovations in the E-Library System and E-

Commerce, Electronic Fund Transfer, supply Chain Management, On-line Transactions

Processing and Internet Marketing.

On-line Bookshop normally makes use of the World Wide Web (www) to an extent in the

transaction life cycle; it also involves shopping of the physical items requested on-line. This

chapter of the project research does not only explore the background of the study, the

statement of the problems, purpose of study, the significance of the study and the limitations, it

also goes as far as exposing and expounding the secrets and fortunes locked up in an online book

shopping.

LITERATURE REVIEW

According to Kiely T. (1997), On-line shopping is the buying and selling of goods or services

on-line or via the internet or other networks. While Microsoft Encarta premium (2009) is of the

opinion that it is the exchange of goods or services by means of the internet or other computer

networks. This follows the basic principle of traditional commerce i.e. the buyers and sellers

coming together to exchange goods for money and profit. This concept provides an opportunity

3
or avenue for consumers and retailers to communicate with each other and carry out their

objectives i.e conduct business.

Rani Kalacota (1997) defined On-line shopping as part of an on-line business where consumers

meet their suppliers for goods and services while Christopher M.H and Chris F. K (1994),

defined On-line shopping as the process of managing on-line financial transactions by

individuals and companies. This however, includes business-to-business (B2B), business-to-

consumer (B2C) and business-to-government (B2G) transaction. However, On-line shopping

launches its focus on the systems or methods and procedures whereby all financial documents

and information are exchanged.

Purpose of Study

The purpose of the study is to identify the problems inhibiting the bookshop growth and

recommend practical solutions, analyzing the existing problems or systems of transaction and

complete mode of operation.

Aim and Objective

The aim of this project is to design and implement a Book Store Management System, the

objectives of this project is listed below:

 To review the maual way of storing and managing books

 To implement the designed system

 To test and validate the new system

Significance of the Study

The importance of this study is based on transaction changes in the operation, the cost of

executing some other operations, their functions and their benefits.

4
METHODOLOGY

In the process of evaluating the solution and the specifications of a detailed on-line based

solution, there is need for the system design. In designing the new system, the software and

hardware aspects were taken into considerations in order to produce a workable website that will

allow effective and efficient communication between the customer, the merchant and the

acquiring bank or acquirer.

This project will be implemented with the following programming languages.

 HTML

 CSS

 Java Script

 PHP

PROJECT TOPIC 3: AUTOMATED SECONDARY SCHOOL RECORD KEEPING

SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION

Record keeping system is the systematic procedure by which the records of an organization are

created, captured, maintained and disposed.

Record management system is the practice of identifying, classifying, archiving and destroying

records. (The International Standards Organization (ISO), 2012) defines record as “The field of

management responsible for the efficient and systematic control of the creation, receipt,

maintenance, evidence of and information about business activities and transactions in the form

of records”.

The school record keeping system will ensure accurate records which will help in assessing the

performance and productivity of students and match student resources with production or service

requirements. It may also help in making more informed decisions about polices of students such

as the capacity of class rooms, the performance of students, the school fees check and balance of

students and many more.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

Aim

The aim of the project is to computerize the activities of record keeping which will enable it

enlarge its data-processing capacity substantially and greatly facilitates access to personal data

within the organization, and across boundaries that separate organizational entities.

Objectives

The following are the objectives that the project seeks to achieve:

1. Analysis of the existing system, that is the manual record keeping system.

6
2. To design a proposed efficient system

3. To evaluate and determine the efficiency of the new system

Scope and Limitations

This project will focus on automating the activities of school, with features such as storage of

student information, staff profile, school academic entry and checking.

LITERATURE REVIEW

This project will review the related literature of this study. It will also explain what school

records are all about, how these records are kept, how important they are, how they are managed

physically and electronically, what are their types, what are their essence and also to examine the

current issues of record management. Finally, it will compare and contrast the manual method

versus using the software technique of keeping school records and find how advantageous it is.

METHODOLOGY

The proposed method that would be adopted is waterfall methodology: Coding and design,

Software testing, Implementation, Maintenance and Documentation.

This project will be implemented with the following programming languages; HTML, CSS, Java

Script, and PHP.
