Instalacion Viewpoint
Please follow the installation steps below for NEW INSTALLATIONS, UPGRADE INSTALLATIONS, or
CUSTOM INSTALLATIONS. If your installation process is trying to access external resources or drivers STOP,
something is wrong! Refer to the Troubleshooting section below before proceeding.
NEW INSTALLATIONS: For Users Where No Prior Version of ViewPoint HD Has Been Installed
1. Copy the “MEDIA DISTRIBUTION” folder to your local hard drive. Installations attempted from Thumb
Drives or across a Network may not be successful.
2. Locate and double-click on the “Run Me to Install ViewPoint HD.bat” batch file (highlighted below).
The batch file installs both the application and drivers needed for ViewPoint HD. The batch file
will create a folder called “ViewPoint HD” on the root of the C drive. This folder location will
contain customization features for your viewer and be the default location for configuration files
and retrieved log data.
3. Follow the prompts <NEXT>, <FINISH>. This process should take about 1 minute.
Installing ViewPoint HD “over the top” of an existing Viewer may not replace all the support files with the
current version. Therefore, additional steps must be taken prior to attempting to install an updated version of
ViewPoint HD.
a. Your installation will skip the installation of drivers and instead show this window.
If your computer requires installations within the C:\Program Files (x86) folder structure, or other designated
drives, the installation can be performed using the Windows Tools. The user will need to install the required
drivers as a separate process.
Within the ViewPoint HD Installer Directory, there is a folder alongside the batch file.
Install the LabVIEW Run Time Engine first using setup.exe in the LVRTE folder shown below:
This will launch the Windows Installation Wizard and allows users to change the installation directory.
Create a folder named ViewPoint HD in C: directory and copy the folder named Local (shown below) to the
newly created C:\ViewPoint HD folder.
You will need to have administrative privileges on your PC to properly install the software. This ensures that
Windows permissions are in place to allow the software to access or create required directories.
2. Install as Administrator
If your user profile is not listed as an Administrator, some installations allow a temporary permission as
follows:
a. Right-click on the “Run Me to Install ViewPoint HD.bat” and select “Run as administrator”
