This review is for the sole purpose of ascertaining conformance with the
general design concept and for general arrangement. This shall not mean
approval of the detail design inherent in the shop drawings, responsibility for
which shall remain with the Contractor and such review shall not relieve the
Contractor of their responsibility for errors or omissions in the shop drawings
or of their responsibility for meeting all requirements of the Contract
Documents. The Contractor is responsible for dimensions to be confirmed
and correlated at the job site for information that pertains solely to fabrication
processes, quantities or the techniques of construction and installation and
for coordination with related work. This form is a record of transmittal to
return the documents to the individual noted above.

General Comments
General comments below shall be read in conjunction with shop drawing review comments and mark-ups made on the
submittal attached herewith.

For Tank and pump supplier:

1. The tank shall be provided with CSA approved vacuum switch/sensor.

2. The tanks shall be delivered with a minimum of 51kPA vacuum drawn on the interstice. Take photo on the gauge and send for
owner/engineer review before installation.

3. The auxiliary tank shall not be provided with bottom connection.

For installation contractor:

1. Installation contractor shall install the storage tank, fuel oil pump, all fittings and associated accessories as per drawing details,
specifications and manufacturer's installation manual. Supply and install all necessary fittings not included in the pre-purchase package to
ensure a fully functional system.

2. Retain manufacturer to test, commission and start-up the fuel oil pump assembly after installation. Submit start-up/commissioning
report for engineer for review.

3. Coordinate with electrical for power.

4. The contractor shall ensure the orientation of the tank, pump and fuel oil piping connections are correct for proper installation and
required service clearances. All field installation shall ensure easy access and sufficient maintenance clearance to alarm panel, tubing,
fittings, vales, and other associated fitting, electrical/control devices, etc. Ensure access for future inspection, testing and maintenance.

5. The review is for performance only. Quantity, size and construction method shall be site verified and coordinated with installation trade.

6. All equipment, tanks, pumps, fittings and associated access, other components are to be provided, installed as per CSA-B139, TSSA
Fuel Oil Amendment, Ontario Regulations, and any other authorities having jurisdiction to be a complete and fully functional system.

7. Coordinate with tank/pump supplier for equipment delivery, pump control panel and piping connections.

ROTATION DIMENSIONS
Standard rotation has the pump discharge on the right (facing the
pump end). Standard Motors are uni-directional, so to change the
rotation on the pumps simply loosen the bolt that holds the
pump-end to the motor, and rotate the pump 180º so the discharge
is on the left.

MAINTENANCE
To ensure a long life to this pump a strainer is always
recommended in front of the pump inlet.

ALBANY DBS DUAL BASKET STRAINER & FILTER

SERVICE RECOMMENDATIONS
These strainers are used to remove foreign matter from
pipe lines and provide inexpensive protection to pumps,
meters, valves, etc. The DBS Series can be specified for
Strainer applications from 20 mesh to 200 mesh, and can
be specified for Filter applications to 5 Micron.

FEATURES
These strainers have been designed for applications where
easy maintenance & large capacity straining are needed.
Service time is minimal because the cover is secured with
quick opening, non-yoke type knobs. Both the cover & the
basket use O-ring seals, eliminating the need to replace
gaskets each time the strainer is serviced. This, combined
with the machined basket seat, eliminates particle bypass.
With the appropriate wire mesh lining, these models can be
used to strain particles as small as five microns.

CONSTRUCTION

Cast cover and body. All sizes feature an O-ring cover

seal. Baskets and O-ring are sealed in machined seats.
Quick release knobs are insert molded with metal threads.
An NPT connection is provided. Coatings are available on
application. Standard strainers basket 304 ss. Filter
elements are available in 5, 10, 25, and 40 micron. Viton
O-ring is standard.

CAPACITY: Minimum 6 to 1 open area ratio.

PRESSURE RATING: 150 PSI

RATING: Shell test pressure = 1.5 times working pressure.

CASING TEMPERATURE RATING: + 2000°F°F
