Title of the Story: The Ignorant Servant

Never dare to mistake your master for a servant or you will face such undeniable
consequence!
This story is about a servant who had no idea that the young girl she mistook as a
servant was the daughter of the noble family she had been serving.
Characters:
 Velma Lexton – an ignorant and discourteous servant
 Athanasia Alpheus – the daughter of the Alpheus Family
 Ms. Lilian Evans – the head servant/housekeeper (the senior female servant, who is
responsible for oversight of all other female staff)

Setting: (At the mansion)

Ms. Evans: Velma, I will escort Lady Jeanette on her way to the Viscount’s estate, I
will leave you in charge of the servants and look after the mansion while I was gone.
(Viscount – a title of nobility, standing below an earl and above a baron)
(Estate - an extensive area of land in the country, usually with a large house, owned by one person,
family, or organization.)

Velma: Understood. I will follow thy command

Ms. Evans: Very well, we will be heading out then
Velma: (Bows)
Right after Ms. Evans left, Velma started patrolling around the mansion and there she
saw a young girl who’s around sixteen years old walking at the hallway
Velma: Hey! What do you think you were doing here?
Young girl: Ohh, uhh…I-I’m Athanasia and—
Velma: (grabs Athanasia’s arms) Do you not know that those who were not given
permission by the head servant is not allowed going here? And yet here you are
wandering around. How brave of you!
Athanasia: B-but I’m the—
Velma: Silence! I did not allow you to reason out. Come with me.
Athanasia: Where are you taking me?
Velma: To the kitchen, the scullion is not here today so you will be washing dishes. A
servant must do her task, and not wander around.
Athanasia: M-me…?
(Scullion - a servant assigned the most menial kitchen tasks.)

(Velma and Athanasia arrives at the kitchen)

Velma: Go clean those dishes. And I will check those servants who were assigned at
the dining hall.
Athanasia: But I do not know how to wash dishes…
Velma: What nonsense are you talking about? How come a teenager like you do still
not know how to wash dishes, did your parents not taught you?
Athanasia: I’m so sorry. C-can you teach me? Like where should I start and how—
Velma: Enough with questions! Learn it yourself. I still have plenty to do.
Athanasia: O-okay…
Velma: And go change your clothes. Why were you wearing a white plain dress by the
way, you must wear your servant outfit.
Athanasia: But I do not have a servant’s outfit.
Velma: Tch. You brat are getting on my nerves.
Athanasia: I-I apologize. I will find a servant’s outfit myself
(While Athanasia was changing, she dropped something from her pocket)
(CLANK. CLANK. CLINK)
Velma: (Noticed the item dropped) W-wait, is that…that was the key to the vault
room! Why is that with you? Are you going to steal thy master’s valuables?
(Vault room – a large room or chamber that is used to store things safely; it is where jewelries,
money, fortunes, etc. are locked for protection)

Athanasia: N-no, I was actually the—

Velma: Silence! Don’t dare give a reason! I see now, that is why you had been
wandering around near the young master’s room huh. To steal the key of the vault
room?
Athanasia: There must be a misunderstanding, I swear I—
Velma: (slaps Athanasia at her face)
Athanasia: (!!)
Velma: I did tell you not to reason out right? I was in charge of the servants so I have
the right to punish such an annoying brat and a thief.
Athanasia: (Trembling with fear and her eyes were in tears)
Before Velma and Athanasia enters the punishment room, Ms. Evans arrives.
Ms. Evans: Oh Velma, is there any problem? I had been calling you several times and
you are not responding.
Velma: I sincerely apologize Ms. Evans. I have been dealing with a servant who steal
the key of the vault room. I am going to discipline her, do not worry about it.
Ms. Evans: A servant with the key to the vault room? What is this all about, where is
she?
Velma: It was her (points at Athanasia)
Ms. Evans: (shocked) M-my Lad— oh no! Are you alright? (Stares at Velma) What do
you think you were doing Velma!? How can you call her a thief!
Velma: M-my lady? Is she the young m-master?
Ms. Evans: She certainly is! The only daughter of Lord Ijekiel and Lady Jeanette,
Athanasia Alpheus! Do you not know?
Velma: I-I did not recognize her, I—
Ms. Evans: Enough with your nonsense excuse! How can you not recognize our lady?
And look, did you hurt her? She is crying, and her cheeks is swollen.
Velma: my deepest apology Lady Athanasia, I beseech thy forgiveness! (kneeled)
Athanasia: (…)
Ms. Evans: We give no mercy to such an ignorant servant who hurts her lady. You will
be imprisoned! Guards!
(Guards arrives)
Ms. Evans: Take her to prison and punish her!
Velma: (crying) Please, have mercy on me! I am very sorry! Please!
