Executive Summary

The Friends Fry Company is a corporation food business in the Tuna

Capital of the Philippines, the City of General Santos. The business has a

plan not only for the success of the Company but also for the betterment of

the city. This is through offering healthy foods and supporting to the local

government unit events that will help the Generals. Furthermore, the

company name and brand name is inspired from the friendship of the staffs

and the way of cooking our main product the “MushChaRap” Mushroom

Chicharon which is frying, so to combine this two, we ended naming our

company The Friends Fry Co. The very first product and focus of our

company is the MushChaRAp, which is a crispy and healthy chicharon made

from Mushrooms. Moreover, the company is compose of three departments

that works together in achieving all of the goals of the company.

Production Department contains two members including the

department head/co-owner. The departments’ estimated cost for the monthly

production of “MushChaRap” is PHP 28,200.00 which is good for 1500

products, as for the Fruit Juice is PHP 4,080 which is good for 192 cans and

for the Bottled Water is PHP 1,920.00 which is good for 200 bottles. If all of

this products are sold, with a selling price of PHP 65.00 for the

“MushChaRap”, PHP 25.00 for the Fruit Juice and PHP 15.00 for the Mineral

Water, the company will acquire PHP 105,300.00 sales.

Marketing department contains two members including the

department head/co-owner, one of the staff is assigned as the Production

Packer and Social Media Manager. They are responsible in researching,

formulating pricing and also in promotion strategies aside for the social

media promotion, and lastly in knowing the wants and needs of the target

market.

Financial department contains 2 member which is responsible in

monitoring as well as managing the company’s financial activities. For their

new product, the expected company’s asset is PHP 72,480.00. The PHP

56,660.00, beginning capital, is deducted by PHP 34,200 which is the

estimated cost for the Monthly Supplies, PHP 10,500.00 for the Rent

Expense, PHP 1,500.00 for the Utilities Expense, PHP 2,260.00 for the

Indirect Materials and PHP 8,180.00 for Machine and Equipment Expense.

However the remaining PHP 20.00 from the beginning capital is added to

PHP 105,300.00 estimated sales of the company.

The Company Background

The Company Name and Tagline

The name of the company is formed because of the friendship that the

all girl members have, that represents the “Friends” and it is also came from

the way of cooking our main product the Mushroom Chicharon which is

FRYing. Moreover, the company tagline “it tastes better when it’s fried”

emphasizes all the Filipinos who likes fried foods and inspired from the

people who says that nothing will go wrong as long as it is fried. French fries

are beloved by many, whether you like skinny fries, chunky fries, waffle fries,

curly fries, sweet potato fries, or any of the other ways you can slice them.

“Keep your friends close, but your fries even closer”.

French fries are low-cost, easy to make, tasty and goes well with

anything especially burgers. While some people enjoy eating French fries

plain or with a bit of salt, I prefer to dip them. Whether you enjoy dipping

them in ketchup, mayo, mustard, or a special fry sauce. It’s safe to say that

dipping your French fries makes them even better.

Our vision is to produce and sell locally sourced Chicharon that are

so delicious and finger leaking good, that every customer who buys our

product will satisfy their snack cravings but still being healthy.

to contribute to our society through initiatives that align with our corporate

social responsibility program.

As a responsible business owner, we tend to create long-term

relationships with our future business partners and to generate a sustainable

profit growth for our company’s shareholders.

As a part of food business, the company’s mission is to delight and

nourish our customers with healthy, quality and delicious food and excellent

service at a reasonable price.

The Company Location

The Friends Fry Co. is located at SM Mall, City of General Santos the

Tuna Capital of the Philippines. The city is one of the good developing cities

in Mindanao and the center of all the trading in the region of

SOCCSKARGEN. The company decided to established a business in this

city because aside from the members are all Henerals, the business also

want to contribute something in their hometown.

The Form of Business Organization

The Friends Fry Co. is a company owned and managed by a total of 3

owners and 3 founding members of the business, wherein every members

take part in an important role and contributes something in the company.

The Friend Fry Co. based the industrial analysis using some of the

Porter’s Forces Framework in knowing the level of competitiveness of the

company in the industry. As a new company in the field of food business, this

framework helps the company to foresee the presence of the company.

prepare for the company’s possible threats. Furthermore, the following are

The logo of The Friends Fry Co. stand a different symbols that

conveys different meaning and message that will help understand the

company. The round shape of the logo symbolizes the unending passion that

each and every members have to help the company rise. The colors red

symbolizes the strong femininity that the company have because all of the

founding members of the company are all brave and risk-taker woman of the

society. The frying pan in the middle of the logo symbolizes the main utensil

that the company uses in making our product. As for the mushrooms inside

The chart below represents the sequence of the Partnership

Organization. It is composed of three different departments under the

company’s 3 owners. The three departments are the marketing department,

production department, and financial department. Furthermore, the three

department has only 2 personnel including the department heads.

The Personnel Duties and Responsibilities

The three (3) departments are assigned to monitor and take actions in

the activities in every aspect of the company, such as the Production,

Marketing and Financial. Furthermore, the duties and responsibilities of each

departments are the following:

Production Department

The production department is responsible for converting raw materials

and other inputs into finished goods. In between the processes of production,

the department works to improve the efficiency of the production or assembly

line so that it can meet the output targets set by company management and

ensure finished products offer consumers the best value and quality.

Marketing Department

The Marketing Department plays a vital role in promoting the business

and mission of an organization. It serves as the face of your company,

coordinating and producing all materials representing the business. It is the

Marketing Department's job to reach out to prospects, customers, investors

The finance department is first and foremost at the heart of the

Human Resource Control Policy

The Friends Fry Company construct the human resource control

policy to oversee the behavior of every staff and maintain the rules

arrangement in the workplace.

c. Maintain a positive workplace environment.

d. Observe Appropriate Dress Code.

e. Employees need to coordinate with their supervisor or colleagues prior to

taking their break.

The Product

The Brand Name

The name of the product is MushChaRap. This came from three

different words combined together. The “Mush” came from the word

Mushroom which is the main ingredient of the product. Cha is shortened from

the word Chicharon which is the kind of food that the company will be selling.

As for the last one “Rap” came from the word Masarap a Filipino word means

Delicious/Tasty which describes the taste of our product.

The Product Feature

The MushChaRap is made up of oyster mushrooms with a mixture of

flour, corn starch, pepper powder, garlic powder, salt, water frying using a

Vegetable oil. This will give a crunchy and light flavor taste.

The Product Packaging

The MushChaRap is placed in a 170x280mm transparent plastic food

packaging zip lock bag with the brand logo sticker. Clear packaging could be

helpful because it gives the customers chance to assess the quality and

other details of the product and it makes them easier to see what's inside

without having to open it to help them to decide on whether the product is

worth to buy.

Production Procedure

The Friends Fry Company classifies the product of the Mushroom

Chicharon into Four (4) parts. Purchasing, and Selling. For purchasing is the

procuring of needed ingredients, and equipment. For the preparing we allows

to easily mix together all off our ingredients for cooking. For the packaging

we designed to the product and ensure that it arrives at its destination in

good condition. Lastly, the company will sell the products, at our store

location which is at the SM Mall, City of General Santos. We will be having

our own stall in front of SM Supermarket.

 Purchase the necessary ingredients.

 Putting the purchased ingredient together

 Prepare the equipment

 Procedure for preparing product packaging:

 Set the mushroom aside for about an hour to dry.

 Combine all of the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.

 Mix in the water until well combined.

 Submerge all parts of the oyster mushroom in the flour mixture.

 Heat the vegetable oil in a fryer until it is hot enough to fry the

mushrooms.

 Deep fry the mushroom until golden brown.

 When the mushroom chicharons are golden brown, remove from the

fryer.

 To remove oil from mushrooms, strain and drain them.

 Cook it twice for a crispier texture.

 Allow it to cool for 15 minutes.

Inputs and Management

Utilities and Waste Management

The Friends Fry Company will be properly segregated. Output product

used in the processing industry to dispose of waste material. The use of this

product has significant environmental and social benefits for the people who

live near the processing site. Friends Fry provides trash cans for garbage

disposal. Our company has a management system, which is a waste

disposal, reduction, reuse, and prevention strategy.

The Marketing Plan

The Friends Fry Co. Will be using different kinds of social media

platforms and different kinds of advertising style in selling their products. This

products suites for all genders, ages and religions. Furthermore, the primary

target of the company in selling their products are all citizens, living nearby

and tourists of General Santos City, to be specific all consumers from the

age of 12-30 years of age coming from different kinds of socioeconomic

class.

The Psycho graphic and Behavioral Profile

The target customers of the company are each members of the

company, including kids, teen and even adult. According to a survey, the

eating habits of the kids are different from teen and adults. Hence, snack,

which is offered by the company, fits for the kids. It is aligned to the food

preference of the kids due to the fact that they love eating snacks and chips.

Moreover, most of the teenagers are adventurous wherein they are willing to

try new things that are advertised in social media. With this, our product can

sustain satisfaction in their adventurous personality. Additionally, the product

also fits for the adults due to the affordable price and also for its’ healthy

style.

The Pie chart above shows the estimated market share of the

company in the industry using a Benchmark method. Since the business is

new in the industry, it only acquired 21.4% of the whole market, and placed

3rd in the field. The street foods, which is in the 1 st spot, has already

established their stalls as an affordable and convenient snack. Furthermore,

the fast food chains offered a variety of foods not only snack but also for the

three meals of the day. And lastly, the High-end Restaurants is in the last

spot due to its pricing and less consumers in a day and considered a

business that has a low market share.

The Pricing Strategy

The Friends Fry Company utilized 3 factors of pricing strategy

which is cost, economic and competitor pricing. The MushChaRap calculate

overhead costs includes the product materials and shipping and to figure out

what economic conditions are good for the customers and also they can see

the worth of price on the product and lastly competitor pricing we don't

always need to be lower than the competitors but if they are higher we able

to justify it with added quality.

The Promotion Strategy

The Friends Fry Company maximize the social media platform and

also it includes plan well and execute. Through a carefully planned

promotional campaign can bring large profits once the product gains

attention in the customer marketplace .The product name address the five

main points of the promotion process which is Product, Price, Promotion,

Placement and People.The

Friends Fry Co. have some ideas can bring in the customer

marketplace to offer a discounts, advertising, launch or relaunch a product,

blog about it, collaborate with famous influencer ,reward the loyal customers

and so on.

The company will also be giving coupons and deals. Special deals can

help capture the customer’s interest at the bottom of the marketing funnel or

the people who are deciding whether or not to purchase the product.

The Financial Plan

The Financial Narrative

The Friends Fry Corporation invests PHP 56,660.00 as they launched

their first product, the MushChaRap “Mushroom Chicharon” and Drinks. The

PHP 56,660.00 is considered as the beginning capital of the company that

will be utilized in purchasing ingredients, boxes of drinks, machine and

equipment and indirect materials (packaging and stall designs) needed for

the production of goods, which estimated cost expense is PHP 44,640.00.

The remaining PHP 12,000.00 serves as a Rent and Utilities expense. The

PHP 34,200.00 budget for the ingredients and drinks can produce

approximately 1500 products, 192pcs of fruit drinks and 200pcs of bottled

water. If the MushChaRap are sold for PHP 65.00, the fruit juice is sold for

PHP 25.00 and the bottled water is sold for PHP 15.00, the company may

achieve PHP 105,300.00 estimated sales. Furthermore, a PHP 56,660.00,

beginning capital will be deducted to avoid loss in the business and a PHP

34,200.00, salary expense for the 3 employees. Therefore, the total sales of

the company for the opening month is PHP 14,460.00.
