Topic: Are you in favor that schools should have freedom in terms of gender expressions?

Everyone should feel comfortable in schools and to have freedom to express their gender.
However, in the Philippines, students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) face
bullying, discrimination, a lack of access to LGBT-related information, and, in some cases, physical or
sexual assault that these abuses can have long-term consequences. The Department of Education
published a child protection policy in 2012 to prevent and resolve bullying in schools, including bullying
based on sexual orientation and gender identity. In 2013, Congress adopted an Anti-Bullying Law with
implementing rules and regulations that clearly ban bullying of LGBT youth—the first law of its type in
Asia.

Gender is one of our society's most significant and never-ending issues. Equality is a problem
faced not just by men and women, but also by persons who identify as members of the third sex, the
LGBTQIA+ group. People should be treated fairly in all facets of life. Equality is about assuring and
disclosing that every person has an equal opportunity to make and revolve for the most of their life.
Schools function as a young person's second home away from home, providing education, socializing,
and resources. Third-sex discrimination and unequal treatment are performed in a variety of ways at
school. However, you treated the common or generally n differently and harshly. The sense of shame of
being left behind. Schools may be difficult environments for students regardless of sexual orientation or
gender identity, but they are usually especially hostile to young LGBT individuals. Even while our schools,
universities, and institutions have rules and procedures in place to safeguard third-sex students, many
LGBTQIA+ students continue to endure bullying that puts them in risk physically and mentally and limits
their capacity to learn. You have the freedom to express your gender, and it is illegal for your classmates
or teachers to harass or discriminate against you based on your gender. You have the freedom to cut
your hair and dress in a way that corresponds to your gender identification, regardless of what sex you
were given at birth. If you are required to wear a drape or tuxedo for your senior photo, you have the
option of wearing whichever one corresponds to your gender identification. You have the right to be
addressed using the gender pronouns you chose. You should also be able to play on a sports team that
corresponds to your gender identification. You are entitled to use the toilet and locker room that
correspond to your gender identification.

Remember what Melene Rossouw said “You will often feel as if you do not fit, but it has never
been your destiny to fit in. You were born to stand out.” So, express yourself as much as you want, you
have the freedom to do it. Let the school support you, let everyone know that you are an extraordinary
person. It is your right to express yourself, do not be shy and embrace yourself.
