2.0: MAJOR CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES IN PROGRESS:


● Continued with the installation of reinforcement for ground beam and tie beam.
● Continued with the excavation of the building footprints around the tower crane two (2) area.
 Dygate workers continued with the waterproofing activities on some sections of the foundation
basement concrete.
 Electricians continued with the installation of foundation earth electrode.
● Casting of foundation basement columns was undertaken at sections of the hospital building
foundation basement, close to the eastern end.
● Continued with Plumbing and piping works for the building foundation area.
● Continued with the backfilling of laterites into the foundation.

3.0 SAFETY HIGHLIGHTS


● Training on working at height and scaffolding.
● No ear plugs for machines which noise is beyond 85 Decibel (DB).
● Covid 19 vaccination

3.1 Environmental issues


On Environmental Management, the key challenge has to do with the excess dust pollution as
a result of movement of vehicles and the backfilling activities ongoing on site. Also, another issue
has do with the overflow of waste water from the septic tank at the workers accommodation, and this
has produced an unpleasant smell around the area.

No issue of incident, accident or near miss was recorded in the week under review.

5.0 INSPECTION REPORT


5.1 Equipment Inspections
Twenty-eight (29) Daily Pre Starts inspections were conducted, among the equipment inspected were
the follows:
 Batch Plants
 Two Tower cranes
 Four Steel Bending Machine [electric powered machine]
 Tipper truck
 Two Mini dump trucks
 One Excavator
 One portable rock breaker
 Two portable Gridding Machines.
 Wheel loader
 Vibration machine
 Cutting machine
The above equipment were inspected using a daily inspection checklists.
