BADMINTON TOURNAMENT 2022 TECHNICAL GUIDELINES AND GROUND

RULES
I. RULES
1. The competition shall be held accordance with the current Laws and regulations of the
Badminton World Federation, in matters not covered by these rules and regulations,
decisions shall rest with the Tournament Manager.
2. The Technical Committee/Tournament Manager shall be responsible for the technical
organization of the tournament. The decision of the committee in all matters regarding the
competition shall be final
II. TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The format of the competition shall be run on Round Robin systems for all events.
III. EVENTS (one (1) doubles entry per level)
1. Men’s Doubles
a. Level B
b. Level C
c. Level D
d. Level E
2. Mixed Doubles
a. Level C
b. Level D
3. Women’s Doubles
a. Level D
b. Level E
IV. TEAM COMPOSITION AND FIELDING OF PLAYERS
1. A team must have a maximum of fourteen (2) players (mandatory fielding of two (2)
players per team tie is required).
2. Each tie shall consist of one (1) doubles.
3. Fifteen (15) minutes before the commencement of play of each tie, the Team Head
shall submit the composition of his/her team to the match control/referee and
to the opposing team head. No substitution shall be allowed under any circumstances
after the tie has commenced.
V. SEEDING I RANKING
1. Pairing in all events shall be done on the following
a. Level B - Former Collegiate/National Players or Palarong Pambansa or mixed
with Lot owner/clubhouse member.
b. Level C - Varsity from high school (public or private) or mixed with Lot
owner/clubhouse member.
c. Level D – Trainer/Coaches provided that they are not former collegiate players
or mixed with Lot owner/clubhouse member..
d. Level E – Lower or Higher Intermediate club players provided that they have not
qualification stated from Level B to D or mixed with Lot owner/clubhouse
member..
VI. ENTRY OF PLAYERS
1. Team heads shall submit their entries for category of the competition during the
meeting before the start of drawing of lots on a prescribed entry form to be
provided by the management.
2. The entries shall be duly signed by the coach / team representative.
3. Upon submission of the entries (duly signed by coach/representative), NO substitution
shall be allowed especially after the draw.
4. Submission of entries is until _____________. Substitution/changes of players shall only
be allowed before the levelling event.
5. Registration fee is on _____________. No registration fee No PLAY. Payment of
registration fee on the day of the event shall not be accepted.
VII. DRAWING OF LOTS
1. Drawing lots shall be done during the meeting of the Team Head together with the
Tournament Organizer / Tournament Manager or one (1) day before the actual
competition. (Electronic Draw lots shall be implemented).
2. Team Heads or representatives shall be the one to make the draw to determine their
opponent.
3. Team Heads / representative's right to question the tournament proceeding or
technical guidelines shall be waived if he / she fails to attend the solidarity or
draw lots.
VIII. SCORING
1. The scoring system of 1 - 35 points (rally point) change court if any of the team
reaches 18 points and continue the scoring up to 35 points, (No tie-setting) shall apply. If
th
the score becomes 34 all, the player/pair who score the 35 points wins the game.
2. There will be a 2 bracket for every levels
3. Top two teams from each bracket with the highest points shall proceed to the Finals for
Championship and Runner Up placing.
IX. WALK OVER
1. A ten (15) minutes grace period on the scheduled tie/match shall be given,
otherwise the team/player shall be declared loser via walk-over.
X. PROTEST
1. Protest on eligibility will be settled at the level of the Organizing and Screening
committee and Eligibility committee.
2. Protest on technicality will be settled at the level of the tournament referee and
tournament manager.
XI. RESTRICTION FOR COURT OFFICIALS AND TEAM HEADS
1. Court officials will not be allowed to officiate in a match if he/she is under the influence of
alcohol.
2. Smoking is strictly prohibited within the playing area – let us make Badminton smoke-free
competition.
XII. UNFORESEEN EVENTS
1. The decision of the referee on any disputes during the competition shall be final.
2. The on-going ties/matches will be impossible to continue; such ties/matches will be
continued later from the point where it was disrupted.
