I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
Physical Education is a two-unit course that focuses on the fundamental components and principles of fitness,
including competency in motor skills, movement pattern and strategies needed to perform a variety of physical
activities. Students will also be given the opportunity to create simple circuit training and aerobic exercises for them
to achieve the main goal of physical fitness and wellness program. The active involvement of the students is
emphasized.
Week 3,4,5, & 6 (Sept. 5, 12, 19 & 26) Self-Testing Activity and Physical Fitness (Definition, Importance,
Components, and Test Protocol)
Week 9, 10, 11 (October 17, 24, 31) Movement Competency (Core Stability Training/ Locomotor and
non-locomotor Movement, Core Strength and Circuit Training)
Week 12 & 13 (November 7 & 14) Conditioning Aerobics Exercises ( Importance, Basic Workout,
History and Definition, Elements of Exercise Program, Principles
and Guidelines of Exercise)
Week 14 & 15 (November 21 & 28) Gymnastics (History, Basic Skills, Stunts, Apparatus)
Week 16 (December 5) Physical Fitness Test
Week 17 (December 12) Final Exam
Midterm – A two minute dance routine showing locomotor and Non-locomotor movements
