THE VERB TO BE (affirmative/negative form)

 We use the verb to be to introduce people.


 We use short forms when we speak and full forms when we write.

Examples:
 My name is Lorena. They are Diego and Robert.

 We use can to express ability:

 She can speak Spanish and English.
Notice:
 The verb can is a modal verb. It does not take the letter –s- in the third
person –he, she-it-
 It does not form the negative/question form with Do/Does.
 The verb can is always followed by the base form of the verb.
