1. Scale (Minor):
We have already learned about major scales. Just like the major scale, the minor scale also follows
a pattern of tones and semi-tones.

2. Counting Rhythm:
Staying in time is one of the most essential jobs of a musician, especially when one is playing
with another musician. Before counting, it’s better to know about bars/measures.

A bar/measure is a small segment of music that holds a certain number of beats.

Now the question is, what is a beat?

The time signature is a symbol written in front of a music piece to show the number of beats
per bar.

How to read a time signature:


Top Number

Bottom Number

Bottom Number:
The bottom number shows us the type of beat we need to count.
1 = Whole Note
2 = Half Note

Top Number:
The top number shows us how many beats we need to count in each bar.
