APPLICATION NO. 1

1. Define development in your own words.

• Development is the growth and progress that something experiences. It also has
to do with growing older through experiences.
2. Describe your own development. In what ways have you changed over your
lifetime? What characteristics have remained the same?

• Over time, personality tends to "improve." People become more extraverted,

emotionally stable, agreeable, and conscientious as they age; this phenomenon is
known as "the maturity principle" in psychology. Although some people could
change more than others, everyone is subject to the maturity principle in general.
The characteristics have remained the same is that it should always be to have a
nice heart.

3. What are the principles of human development and their educational

implications?

Physical development – the physical changes that the body experiences such as
increase in height, weight, and internal organ size to which these changes do not
come in the same pace and rate for everyone. When it comes to education, this
principle allows the child to learn through doing whatever he wishes to in order to
fully grasp what the mentor wanted to relay and perfom according to the
assigned tasks.

Social development – this is where an adolescent can finally establish sense of

personal identity, role, and purpose. The people around them such as their
friends and family play a significant role in order for them to achieve roles of
being an adult. When it comes to education, this principle allows the child to learn
through engaging oneself with other people who have different abilities and
talents, aptitudes, capabilities and skills, interests and ideas, and so on. This way,
it helps a child learn himself and discover something about himself in other
aspects.
Emotional development – this refers to the way people think and feel about
themselves and to other people. This principle talks about their inward thoughts
as a major factor of this specific development. In learning, this development helps
the child connect and relate to other people through that they think and feel.

Cognitive development – this is where the process of thoughts, being rationale,

and perception get involved. This is a critical one because this development is
where a child learns through knowledge-based concepts and ideas. This harnesses
their ability to think and read between the lines. (January 12, 2022 by Jeel Monde

4. What are the two approaches to human development?

• The traditional approach places a strong emphasis on the significant change that
occurs from infancy to adolescence, little or no change in maturity, and decrease
in late old life. The life-span approach places special emphasis on how people
develop both as children and as adults

APPLICATION NO. 2
A. If you were given a chance, which developmental stage would you like to be
in? Why?

• If I given the choice, I would prefer to remain in late childhood, being in this
developmental stage where I can do whatever I want and I can feel a pace.
because the duties, responsibilities, and issues are hard to handle if your an adult
enough and it always give us a problem and stress. I want to be a kid because kids
always a happy.

B. Reflect on your stages of development. Were you able to acquire the

developmental tasks expected for each stage. What facilitated your acquisitions
of the ability to perform such tasks? Write your reflections.

• I think that through time, I gain the ability to live independently, make
decisions, and have control over my life.

My mother taught me to walk when I was a year old, despite the fact that I
occasionally fell down, she also taught me how to say "mama" and "papa," and
she taught me everything she could. My mother then attempted to enroll me in
school as a toddler when I was three years old. I was quite shy on the first day of
school. However, my mother is still there to help me. I then begin to introduce
myself to my teacher and classmates. After a few months, I discovered many
things, I already know how to paint, write my name, and other things. My teacher
once informs us that she would be giving an exam the following day. My mother
then threatened to buy me my favorite food if I worked hard to study and
received the highest grade. I did so, and as a result, I received the highest grade.
She then gave me my favorite dinner as she had promised.

I started second grade when I was seven years old. Making wise decisions
requires a lifetime of practice. For me, it started with making simple decisions
when I was young. Which shirt would you want to wear? What beverage would
you like? My preferences were respected. My mother did not decide what to
wear when I chose a blouse that was egregiously out of style with my pants. This
gave my early choices significant weight, despite the fact that I had poor fashion
sense.

As the years pass, I am now in my adolescent years. I struggle with bodily

changes, mood swings, and social challenges as a teenager. I feel like I can
accomplish whatever I want with my life at this point. Sometimes, instead of
acting like my typical juvenile self and bidding goodbye to my mother, I left the
house. Maybe it's all a part of maturing. I felt good.
