beeninsertedinthemeter.Thiscausesthefluorescentdyeinthetestdevicetogiveoffenergy.Themore
energythefluorescentdyegivesoff,thestrongerthesignal.

Overview:RunningaTest
Afteratestsample(forexample,blood)fromapatientisaddedtothetestdevice,thetestdeviceisinserted
intheQuidelTriageMeterPro.Themetermeasureshowmuchofthesubstance(aparticularprotein
marker)ispresent,basedonstandardsthathavebeenpreͲprogrammedintothemeter.Thepatient
identification,theUserI.D.andthetestresultscanbeprintedoutonapapertape.
Inadditiontotestingsamplesfrompatients,theQuidelTriageMeterProcontainspreͲprogrammedQuality
Control(QC)functionsthatallowthepersonoperatingthemetertomonitorqualitycontrol.

TheQuidelTriageMeterProrequiresminimalmaintenance.Occasionalcleaningoftheexteriorwithmild
soapandwatersolutionissufficient.Afterusingadamp,notwet,spongeorclothtoapplyamildsoapand
watersolutionontheoutsideofthemeter,wipethemeterdryusingasoftclothorabsorbenttissue.Donot
allowwatertoseepintotheprinter.Donotimmersethemeterinwaterorotherliquids.
Ifbloodorotherfluidsarenotallowedenoughtimetofullyabsorbintotestdevices,thedevicetrackdoor
mayoccasionallyrequirecleaning.Usingacottonswabdampenedwithisopropylalcoholandapairof

TheSupervisorcanselecttheQCFrequencyforperformingexternalliquidcontrolsamples.Whenitistime
toperformexternalQCsamples,theusermusttesttheexternalliquidcontrolsandobtainacceptable
resultsbeforepatientsamplescanbetested.WhenQCsampleshavebeensuccessfullyperformed,theuser
isallowedtoperformtestsonpatientsamples.IfQCsamplesarenotwithinanacceptablerange,aQC
Lockoutfunctionpreventstestingofpatientsamples.Ifdesired,thesupervisorinacentrallabsettingcan
bypassthisfunction.Iftestdevicecontrolsareoutofrange,aQCLockoutfunctionisactivatedandpatient
