This Week - Week 1
In their quest to understand the natural world around us, scientists try to work out
relationships between physical quantities that can be measured. Measurements are
important parts of science, they are part of our observations and are necessary steps in
gathering information to support a theory.
This week, we discuss measurements of length and time, which are physical quantities that
can be measured directly. Many other quantities are based on measurements of length and
time, like volume, speed, velocity and acceleration. In Lesson 3 we learn about density, which
itself relies on measurements of volume.
