Before starting any work on site, verify that you are familiar with all the relevant safety instructions for on-site work,
specifically EN 50110-1, clauses 6.2. and 6.3.
a) not be in use,
b) not planned to be in use,
c) not be energised,
d) be secured against unintentional re-energisation and
e) be earthed (should a risk assessment require this)
Two standards exist for component naming and may be used interchangeably:
Generally, a cross indicates a deviation, a failure, warning or not applicable. A tick indicates a pass or acceptance.
For each item, the some, or all, of following options are available.
Applicable (Tick or Cross) A tick indicates that this item is applicable. A cross indicates that it is not.
L1 or System, L2, L3 (Tick or Empty) A tick indicates that this item meets all requirements. An empty box indicates that it does not.
For components that are common to the system, then only L1 contains a checkbox. Otherwise, a checkbox is
available for all three phases.
Fail, Warning or Remark (Cross or Empty) A cross indicates that this item requires additional attention, which shall be documented in
Section 2
This report shall be signed by the customer, or the representative of the customer, and the ABB Certified Field Service Engineer and
submitted to ABB at:

Any item, or items, within this report that have been flagged as failed, or otherwise require attention (denoted by ❎ in the Fail,
Warning or Remark column), are documented within this section, together with an explanation as to why a pass was not recorded.
It is recommended that these items be completed and closed out as appropriate.
Due to Heavy Fault flowing through the GCB system during Three phase short
circuit on 4th Aug 2021,Client approached OEM for Further Inspection and OEM
has suggested to perform Midlife inspection.
After Midlife inspection, GCB has 78% Remaining electrical life. Based on the
test carried out, no abnormality observed. GCB is ready for further operation.
After inspection of GCB , Field service engineer has review the available spares
parts list and recommended to procure following Critical Spares & consumables.
1) Hydraulic oil
2) Bevel Gear
3) Manual Hydraulic Spring charging kit
4) Hydraulic mechanism complete set ( HMB 4.5)
5) Electrical Overhauling Kit of complete GCB system

3.1 Disclaimer
The GCB System has passed all the tests that are required by ABB. Upon signing this document, the customer is
deemed to have acknowledged and accepted that
a) ABB is not responsible for any supplies or services related to the flexible connections between the GCB and the IPB
when not supplied or performed by ABB,
b) if ABB has supplied the interface drawings and any other related information for the flexible connections between the
GCB and the IPB, then ABB’s responsibility is limited to the correctness of such drawings and information,
c) the prescribed maintenance procedures according to the operation and maintenance manuals shall be undertaken and
that attention shall be given to the number of load-current breaking operations and the environmental conditions that
the breaker is exposed to,
d) the total permissible run time of the drive pump motor within half an hour is limited to three minutes, including during
installation and maintenance and,
e) all remedial actions as described under Section 2 shall be implemented before applying voltage to the GCB.
The customer understands that, according to IEC 61936-1, Chapter 5.6, which states “Information on mounting and
service conditions of type tested equipment supplied by the manufacturer shall be observed on site”, any deviations from
the information provided on the dimension drawing supplied with the GCB may result in injury to persons, damage to
equipment, or both.
The customer understands that all electrical interlocking systems must be activated to prevent unintended operation,
either from local or remote commands, of any component of the GCB system.
If this report has been signed by a third party, then this report shall be handed over to the customer prior to energisation.
