in English III

I. Objectives: (SMART/KISS)
At the end of the lesson, the pupil should be able to:
a. To make students understand the use of Adjectives;
b. Identify adjectives and their role in the sentence; and
c. Form sentences using descriptive adjectives

A. Preparatory Activities

Good morning class! Good morning, Teacher!


Before we begin, let us all stand for our opening
prayer. May I request someone to please lead
us on prayer. (One student volunteer and lead the
prayer)

Alright! Please take your sit and let’s check your


attendance for this day. (Student’s raise their hand and say
present as their name is called)
Before we go to our topic, How’s your day,
class? It was good Teacher!

Good to hear!

1. Drill
Now let us sing and dance this song entitled

(The pupils sing and dance along with
the teacher)

2. Review
Now let’s have a short recap about our topic (Random pupils answer the question)
last time. Anybody from the class can recall what We talk about the subjective vs.
is our discussion? Anyone? Objectives, Sir!

B. Developmental Activities

1. Motivation
To begin with our lesson for today, let’s have
first a game.

When you are all ready.

Okay this game is called “Describe Me”

Direction:
There will be a box filled with the names
of the students. When the music playing, the box
will be passed on in a zigzag pattern. When the
music stop, the person who is holding the box will (Pupils participate actively)
pick out one name. Without telling the name
written on the piece of paper, he/ she will describe
the person. Other students will start guessing who
he/she is referring to.

2. Presentation of the lesson

Based on the activity that we have done, what do (Pupils raising their hands)
you think will be our topic for today? I think our lesson for today is about
describing word Sir!

3. Setting of Standards

Before we begin our lesson for today, May I know


if anyone could still remember our class rules;
What we should do if teacher is discussing in
front? Sit properly and listen carefully Sir!!

And how about the proper way to ask question? We should raise our hand before
asking you Sir!.

4. Discussion

Adjectives and Types of Adjectives

May I request Jeaben to please read the first


paragraph.

An adjective is defined as a word used to modify


a noun. A word or phrase naming an attribute, (Jeaben reading the first paragraph)
added to or grammatically related to a noun to
modify or describe it.

Based on what you have read, what have you What I understand is that Adjectives is

Types of Adjectives

1. Descriptive Adjectives-simply say something


about the quality or the kind of the noun or
pronoun they are referring to.

Examples: I love green vegetables.

This adjective applies to nouns that allude to


activity. State that comes after linking verbs.

2. Quantitative Adjectives-it answer the


question “how much” or “how many”

3. Demonstrative adjectives -it describes
“which” noun or pronoun you are referring
to. These adjectives include the words:

This- used to refer to a singular noun close to you


That- used to refer to a singular noun far from you
These- used to refer to a plural noun close to you
Those- used to refer to a plural noun far from you

It always come before the word they are referring


to:

Example: This dog has a long tail.


That girl is my cousin
These trousers are now too tight for me.
Those students are disciplined. (pupil’s raise their hand and answer)
These mangoes are rotting.
Do anyone understand the Demonstrative
adjectives? If yes Who can give me an example? Those cars are very expensive.

5. Generalization (The pupil’s will be called randomly
