IV.PROCEDURES
A. Introduction 1. Review
Read and understand each question or statement. Choose the letter of
your best answer.
1. What numbers can you multiply to give 21 as the product or answer?
a. 3 x 4 b. 2 x 10 c. 3 x 7 d. 4 x 5
2. What multiple of 7 is less than 25 but greater than 20?
a. 20 b. 21 c. 24 d. 25
3. What is the second largest factor of 36?
a. 15 b. 16 c. 17 d. 18

a. 3 b. 5 c. 18 d. 24
5. If we skip count by 7, what is the 4th number?
a. 7 b. 14 c. 21 d. 2

2. Motivation
The pupils will skip counting while passing the ball. The pupil that is holding the ball will say the
number then pass it to his/her seatmate to say the next number.

B. Development 3. Presentation
David has 35 marbles, and he needs to give equal number of marbles to his 6 friends. How many
marbles will he give to each of his friends for them to have the same number of marbles?

a. What is asked?
- How many marbles will he give to each of his friends for them to have the same number of
marbles?
b. What are the given facts?
- 35 marbles, his 6 friends
c. What operation to be use?
- Division
d. Write the number sentence.
- 35 ÷ 7 = N
e. Solution
-35 ÷ 7 = 5
-each of them will receive 5 marbles.

4. Discussion
David Friend 1 Friend 2 Friend 3 Friend 4 Friend 5 Friend 6
5 5 5 5 5 5 5
5 10 15 20 25 30 35
Getting the multiples of a number is like skip counting. Multiples of a number are the same number
added repeatedly.

Examples:
The multiples of 2 are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and so on.
As you can see, it looks like skip counting by 2 or adding 2 repeatedly.
C. Engagement 5. Practice
Learning Task 1
Fill in the missing multiple of each given number.
1. 7 = 7, 14, ______, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63, 70
2. 9 = 9, _____, 27, 36, 45, 54,63,72,81,90
