‫في ظل توجه العديد من الدول العربي ة نح و تب ني التح ول ال ذكي ودخ ول غم ار المنافس ة التكنولوجي ة عالمي اً‪ .‬وم ع أن‬
‫صناعة البرمجيات في المنطقة العربية قد ظهرت وازدهرت بشكل واض ح في ثمانيني ات الق رن الماض ي ع بر ش ركات‬
‫حققت نجاحا ً كبيراً‪ ،‬مثل شركة “صخر” و”سعودي سوفت”‪ ،‬إال أ ّنه ا ت راجعت الحق ا ً نتيج ة أس باب أبرزه ا االفتق ار إلى‬

The great development that the world witnessed in the field of communications and
information technology imposed a new reality on the software industry in the Arab
world, as it is emerging today as one of the industries of the future and the
cornerstone on which the pillars of the digital revolution are based, in light of the
trend of many Arab countries towards adopting smart transformation and entering
the midst of competition technology globally.

Although the software industry in the Arab region emerged and flourished clearly in
the eighties of the last century through companies that achieved great success,
such as “Sakhr” and “Saudi Soft”, it declined later due to reasons, most notably the
lack of basic infrastructure, the spread of piracy and the lack of laws Clear
protection of intellectual property, in addition to the weakness of traditional
educational curricula, which are now unable to keep pace with the needs of the labor
market.

The software industry is all activities related to the development, maintenance, and
dissemination of computer software. This industry also includes the field of after-
sales service such as software training and consulting. The software industry began
in the mid-1970s, with the beginning of the personal computer revolution. The
largest and most active software companies are located in the United States of
America, especially in California, where Silicon Valley is the largest gathering of
software companies, with more than 500 companies working in this field.
