    “A Concept Paper about the Construction of Reading Pantry in
    Usmad National High School”
    English and Filipino teachers created an organizations (English and Filipino Clubs) for the
    purpose of having a student leaders who can be a tutor to some of the students in Usmad National High
    School that can be classified as frustrated readers or might be a non-readers. The said teachers also
    were conducted a spelling quizzes, oral readings or might be a reading comprehensions to practiced
    those students who can be classified as non-readers and frustrated readers during their time of
    discussions when in fact they're chasing some lessons. Sadly, they can't proceed to the next lessons if
    they can't master the students in reading comprehensions since that's the key elements for
    understanding the topic. That's the intention of the quizzes mentioned above. In simple words, can't
    deny the fact that many of the students in the said school are still having a difficulties in understanding
    a certain short selection. In terms also with their vocabularies, there are still a lot of students who can't
    even spell simple words correctly. And that's the biggest issue in the said school that needs a focus.

    As mentioned above, reading comprehension was one of the heavy concern in the said
    institution, that's why constructing a Reading Pantry can be very beneficial to the teachers in a way that
    it can help them to save time in helping students to master reading comprehensions. Constructing a
    Reading Pantry can be beneficial the most also on the students in a way that it helps them to master
    and enhance their reading strategies. It can surely give so much enjoyments also to the students and
    lastly, it can help them to improve their vocabulary. Therefore, constructing a Reading Pantry can be a
    million times worth to support. Construction of Reading Pantry in Usmad National High School’s purpose
    is to help not just non-readers and frustrated readers in improving their reading comprehensions but as
    well as to the few readers which can help on the said readers to enhance more about their reading
    strategies and basically help all of them with their vocabularies. Additionally, it also helps the teachers
    to save time in helping students to master reading comprehensions. The construction seeks to achieve
    it's general objectives on constructing a Reading Pantry on Usmad National High School by focusing on
    the following specific objectives; to see an improvements about reading comprehensions between non-
    readers and frustrated readers, to evaluate student's vocabulary particularly on spelling and grammars,
    to enhance those identified readers with their reading comprehensions and vocabularies, and lastly to
    identify reading strategies to all students in the said institution so that another intervention can be
    proposed. The procedure to attain the proposed project are as follows; teaming up with other who
    want to share common interest and have a proper planning. Next is to submit a letter for the school
    principal asking for permission about the construction of reading pantry. Asking also for support to the
    school especially financial so that construction of reading pantry can be started. Since that there's a
    books available in the library, so after the construction of Reading Pantry, then arranging and displaying
    of books take place. Approximately, the preparation and the actual display of reading pantry will be
    covered for almost one (1) month.

    In general, Filipino Club and English Club together with Supreme Student Government in the
    said institution are building a better workplace for the students to enhance their skills on that exact field
    by giving the students a spelling quiz or might be a reading comprehension and if granted, the Reading
    Pantry will be a great help to foster students in their reading strategies/comprehension changes that will
    basically lead to success.
