Then remove three PCBs mounted on the lower coil. Use the soldering iron to remove
the copper plates soldered to each PCB. The parietal side connector shown in the
figure above is included in the accessories supplied. If it is hard to remove it, connector
pins may be cut off.
Then attach PCBs supplied (three in total).
At this point, however, the screws fixing PCBs should be temporarily tightened.
L2E-BM5208

@ When the connector at the parietal side does not fit
Remove the copper plate soldered to the right and left PCBs for the moment.
Then file off the PCB mounting hole and FRP cover windows (6 locations).

4. Attach all the FRP covers and check if the connectors can be successfully connected.
To be filed off
At this time, take care of the hole to be widened laterally, and not to be widened
vertically.
0 Use brass screws @I3 flat-head screw) and hexagonal nuts included in the accessories
supplied to fix the lock at the side which holes have been filed off.
@ Restore the FRP covers (U) and (IJ to their positions.
-5- L2E-BM5208
@ Fold aluminum foil (or spacer for adjusting table height: aluminum plate) to a size
of about 1Ocm square, and slowly bring it from the left or right side of coil.
At this time, measure amplitude of signal displayed on the oscilloscope and find a
position where the amplitude becomes smallest.
I I
Amplitude of oscilloscope
Then, remove the copper tape if it is stuck at the side opposite to the side where the
amplitude became smallest.
If the copper tape has not been stuck at the opposite side, stick the copper tape at
the side of aluminum foil.
When sticking the copper tape, do so to the location shown below so as not to touch
the copper plate of coil.
After sticking the copper tape, try to bring aluminum foil from the left or right side
of coil. When amplitude of signal displayed on the oscilloscope becomes larger
even if bringing it from either direction, adjustment has been completed.

The Joint Motion Devices are a family of six mechanical supports intended to
assist in the MR imaging of seven anatomical areasThe six Joint Motion Devices,
the seven anatomical areas of interest, and the RF Coils recommended for use
with the Joint Motion Devices are listed in the chart below,
The Joint Motion Devices are intended to provide repeatable imaging of the
above joints through dynamic and kinematic motion. The Joint Motion Devices
enable incremental, stepped motion of the joint under study, and constrain joint
motion to a single user-designated plane of rotation, These user-designated
planes of rotation emulate the natural motion of the desired articular anatomy.

1.0 Introduction
This document describes the installation and adjustment procedure for the QD-C Spine
coils intended for use with the Altaire. The test results must be documented for quality
assurance purposes and evaluated to assure that each production coil meets the coil
performance specifications.
The QD C-Spine Coil is intended to provide high quality imaging of the cervical spine;
dependent upon patient anatomy, the coil sensitivity may additionally image upper
thoracic and lower cranial structures. The QD C-Spine Coil makes use of a split top coil
design. A releasable bridge structure is provided for easier patient positioning.

1.0 Introduction
! NOTICE
Do not take the cover off of this coil in the field. This coil has no tuning
diodes so all adjustments that are to be made in the field can be done so
without removing the cover.
This document describes the installation and adjustment procedure for the Multiple Array
CTL Spine coils intended for use with the AIRIS II. The test results must be documented
for quality assurance purposes and evaluated to assure that each production coil meets the
coil performance specifications.

4.3 Coil Tuning
Tuning Preparation
! NOTICE
This coil has multiple elements, and each must be tuned separately. When
tuning a given element, other elements are turned off to prevent them
from coupling with the element being tuned. This is done by a supplying a
DC input to the coil.
