INTRODUCTION
Sustainability in the supply chain itself definition and business plans often refer to the
three Ps which consist of planet, people, and profit. Water pollution is defined as the presence
in groundwater of toxic chemicals and biological agents that exceed what is naturally found
in the water and may pose a threat to human health and/or the environment. Additionally,
water pollution may consist of chemicals introduced into the water bodies as a result of
various human activities. Any amount of those chemicals pollutes the water, regardless of the
harm they may pose to human health and the environment. Water pollution is cause by the
uses of toxic chemicals, dumping of chemical wastes by big factories, throwing of plastic
bottle in the ocean and other pollution. A serious water pollution had happen at Teluk Bahang
in Penang that had become issues to fishermen and people in the area. Teluk Bahang is a
small fishing village located in the north-western of Penang Island, Malaysia. It has
several attractions which include forest reserved park, ecotourism sites, theme parks and
famous for its aquaculture activities. The fishermen claims that this issue keep spreading for
about 10 years. This issue give many effect to fisherman about their supply chain and could
effect their health. These three words that all start with a P, describe how the goal of
sustainability is within the sweet spot of all of these different values. Based on article about
water pollution that happen in Teluk Bahang, there could be effect on the sustainability of the
supply chain.

PROFIT
The 3P are mostly referred with the Triple Bottom Line. Triple Bottom Line is
important because The article about water pollution at Teluk Bahang, Penang could be
effected to people, profit and planet . Firstly is water pollution could effect on profit or all the
community at Teluk Bahang is by the income of the fisherman will effected. The water
pollution had caused the death of tonnes cultured fishes. The fisherman could not sell the fish
with the amount that they used to sell to their customer. Fisherman need to file a report as the
issue make them have no income to pay bank loan.
PLANET
Next is water pollution also could effect the planet. The article said that the water at
the island and the mainland were polluted with heavy metal and the water also become
blackish. As the water is one of the important sources, it will difficult the community to
produce clean water. The water pollution also cause death of the fish where it could effect
community supply chain. The community doesn’t know either the water pollute with
chemical, oil or mud that cause the crisis of water pollution.
PEOPLE
Lastly, water pollution at also could effect the people or all the community at Teluk
Bahang by health. The water that probably that have pollute with chemical, oil or mud
difficult them to have clean water everyday. Fishermen also cannot be working like usual
because of there many death of the fish. For the customer that used to buy from the fishermen
at Teluk Bahang also need to find new to buy fish. As the fish is the main food supply for the
people at Teluk Bahang, they also will face difficulty to think other ways to be their new
menu. Water pollution give everyone problems and need to be solve as soon as possible.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the issue about water pollution at Teluk Bahang has effect their supply
chain. Water pollution also cause from human behave itself. So everyone responsible to take
care water from polluted. The possible marine pollution factors that had caused the death of
cultured fish in Teluk Bahang. In this issue the community still hoping the result of the lab
test that had be taken. The community also hoping for they will work like before.
