    ABBASI SHAHEED HOSPITAL

    HISTORY
    Abbassi Shaheed Hospital was established in 1974 in Karachi. And proudly places itself
    among Pakistan’s most prestigious hospitals. Located in one of the most populous
    neighborhoods in Karachi, it is also the third largest public sector hospital that comes
    under the umbrella of the City Government of Karachi. With a total cost of 2.5 crores at the
    time of completion, the hospital was constructed by the city government (known as baldia
    uzma) during the tenure of Prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, in the name of Major
    Ziauddin Abbasi who sacrificed his life in the 1965 war between Pakistan and India, the
    hospital was inaugurated on 2nd technologically advanced and equipped hospital at that
    time, and has brilliantly evolved along with the changing demands of the modern medical
    and healthcare. Abbassi Shaheed Hospital’s vision is to provide the prevalence of quality
    healthcare and the highest standard of education.
