Course Description:
The three-unit course “Comparative Philosophy” introduces students to the study, which draws
philosophical insights from the cross-cultural or cross-disciplinary examination of concepts and
approaches in the realm of human understanding. The course covers dialogical studies between the East
and the West, particularly those from the book Across the Ancient Philosophical World: Essays in
Comparative Philosophy, which was written by Prof. Alfredo Co, PhD.
At the end of the course, students are expected to 1) compare parallel or distinctive worldviews and 2)
understand the perspective of different philosophies of the East and the West.
