5’ 1. Listen and number:
- Have pupils look at pictures a, b, c and d on page21 of
Presentation the Student Book. Give the identification of the characters
10’ in the pictures and the characters’ words. Tell pupils that Individual
they are going to listen to the recording and match the
information they hear to the pictures. They should number
the boxes.
- Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and number
the boxes. Check their guess. Compare the answer with the
partner.
- Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T
give the answer:
- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of
the listening text.

2. Look and write: Pairwork
- T explains the situation and how to do the exercise.
- Ask students to read the dialogue in the book and fill the
words given to complete the dialogue.

- Have pupils open their books to Page 21. Tell pupils that
they are going to play the game Slap the board.
- Stick a large sheet of paper with the nine words to the
board.Tell pupils that there are nine words
- When everything is ready, call out the words, one at a
time.Pupil who is the quickest to slap the correct word gets
one point. The one who gets the most points at the end of
the game will win.

5’ - T asks Ss to practice ask and answer question about
weekly activities.
1. Listen and repeat:
Presentation - Play the CD and have Ss repeat each line of the chant. Individual

- T introduces the topic “you are going to read the
sentences to get the information in order to answer the

10’ - Ss read the sentences individually and check their
prediction. Ss do the task.
- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary
- Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction
- Call on some Ss to report their answers. Others listen
and comment.
* Answers:
1. Her name is Mai.
2. It’s Monday today.
3. No, she doesn’t. She goes to school on Mondays,
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

2. Write about you: Individual
- Have pupils open their books to Page 23. Tell pupils that
they are going to write a short paragraph about
themselves.
- Ask sts to work in pairs or groups to discuss what they
are going to write
- Pair works. Pupils trade their answers for correction.
- Ask some pupils to read their answers aloud to the class.
The rest of the class listen and give comments.
- Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension
of the reading text.
10’ 3. Project: Groupwork
- Interview one of their classmates about what they do at
the weekend.
-Write some sample questions on the board

- Elicit the character and have Ss guess what they are T- whole class
saying.
- Set the scene: we are going to read a story in which pupils
ask and answer question about dates. Have Ss listen to the
recording as they read the lines in the speech bubbles.
- Play the recording again for Ss to repeat the lines in the
speech bubbles two times.
- Divide the class into two groups. One repeat Mis Hien’s
part and the other repeat Mai’s part and Nam’s part.
- Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each
line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation.
- Sentence Partners: A: What is the date today?
B: It’s the first of October.
10’ c. Point and say: Pairwork
- T models/ allocates the parts of characters Mai and Nam
to Ss.
Nam: What is the date today?
Mai: It’s the second of October.
- Ask them to act out the dialogue1. Repeat the step with
some other pairs for pictures.
- Have Ss practice acting out the dialogue in pairs, using
the pictures.
- Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the
5’ class. The others observe and give comments.
3. Let’s talk:
-Revise the questions What day is it today? And What do Pairwork
you do on Mondays? And how to respond to them.
-Work in pairs. Ask and answer questions about the real
days.
