1. Whom does the pronoun ‘I’ refer to?


Ans: The pronoun ‘I’ refers to Abdul.

2. The word ‘julley’ means goodbye in the above line.

3. Name the lesson and the author.


Ans: The name of the lesson is “Chuskit Goes to School” and the author is
Sujatha Padmanabhan.

VI. Answer the following questions:


1. Why had Chuskit not been able to go to school?
Ans: Chuskit had not been able to go to school because she had a disability of
walking and she had been using a wheelchair. So, she could not cross the stream
by jumping over the big rocks as all students did.

2. What idea did Abdul have?


Ans: Abdul's idea was to get the other students together and help level the path
from Chuskit's home to school so that she could push her wheelchair and go to
school every day.

3. Why did Meme-Ley cry as he watched the teachers and children working?
Ans: Meme-Ley was happy for Chuskit and was moved to tears to see the
teachers and students work as a team to fulfill Chuskit’s dream of going to school.
