51-70. In five to ten (5-10) sentences, as an IT student how can you prevent hacking of your personal
account (Facebook, Gmail, twitter, Instagram, etc.).

As an IT student to prevent my personal accounts from hacking I will not access my personal or financial
data with public Wi-Fi because it is not secure and a lot of people using it. If you want to check you bank
accounts or make purchases with a credit card, use a secure connection. I will turn off anything that I
don’t need because hackers can use certain features on my phone to get at my information, location or
connection. So, instead of keeping my GPS, wireless connection and geo-tracking on all the time, just
turn them on when you need it. I choose my apps wisely and I am making sure that my apps are always
updated and I uninstall my old apps that I don’t need. I use a password, lock ode or encryption on my
accounts and I always making it sure that my passwords are at least eight characters long with a mix of
upper and lower case and include numbers or other characters, and I never use the auto complete
feature for passwords. I am always skeptical about links and attachments because if you’re not sure
about the source, don’t use the link or open the attachment.
