Study Plan

Introduction: I, Md. Abu Bakar Siddique, writing this study plan to resubmit
my study permit application. I have successfully accomplished my B.Sc.
Engineering Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Sylhet
Engineering College affiliated with Shahjalal University of Science and
Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh, in 2021. Before that, I had finished my college
and high school period with an academic impeccable record from a Science
background. As a child, I was fascinated by transformers, semiconductors, and
motors through the constant absorption of knowledge about them from the
internet and textbooks. Which eventually led me to study Electrical and
Electronic Engineering at my undergraduate level. I started thinking about my
dream career as an engineer when I was in high school. I want to raise my
career as an Electrical Engineer in future after completing my higher studies in
Canada. I will come back to my home country to accomplish my career goal.
Work Experience: Even though my undergraduate schedule was packed with
hard study and focused work for research and a variety of technical projects, I
found time to attend and participate in local seminars and EEE fests. In my
fourth year of study, I was placed on a three-week placement at the Training
Institute for Chemical Industries, Ghorashal, Bangladesh. Also, I had done my
undergraduate thesis project on renewable electricity generation by independent
study and completed a thesis entitled "Simulation of Incremental Conductance
and Fuzzy Logic Based MPPT to Detect the Maximum Efficiency of PV Array:
Bangladesh perspective".
Why CANADA:I go to Canada as I looked for an ECE program in Bangladesh
but was unable to locate any suitable institution that gives quality education in
practical electrical and computer engineering. Furthermore, local degrees are
not highly appreciated in our location for obtaining competitive employment.
So I choose to pursue a world-class ECE degree. For this Canada is worthy as
compared to other Western countries.Studying in Canada offers me a world-
class education even while allowing me to save a lot of money. All sorts of
programs from various streams are available in Canadian Colleges and
Universities for students who wish to study in the country.Canada has a
fantastic system called co-operative work. It is a terrific system in Canada that
allows students to work in their chosen fields while they study. As a
consequence, an engineering student could work for an engineering firm while
education. In 2018, the Global Peace Index listed Canada as the world's sixth
most placid country. For a long time, people in various countries have been
moving to Canada. This grants Canada an edge over other countries in terms of
cultural diversity. In addition, both classroom and hands-on practical learning
are valued equally at Canadian universities.
Why this university & subject: The grass routing of my ideal university was
the next vital part after mapping my best schooling destination. I initially kept
my options on the table and applied to three universities, of which two accepted
me.I have chosen the University of Calgary most because it is positioned top 20
Canadian universities according to the Canada University ranking 2022. A
member of the U15, the University of Calgary is also one of Canada's top
research universities (based on the number of Canada Research Chairs).
Moreover, it is innovative teaching, which emphasizes students' intellectual and
overall development over gaining a grade, has made it one of the best locations
in the world for me to study. Additionally, world-class academic support,
industrial collaboration, and the learning experience will undoubtedly allow me
to achieve skills in my chosen topic.Furthermore, throughout my college years,
I had so many difficulties with my research project since I observed that I
lacked sufficient knowledge of computer science-related areas such as PLC,
DCS, Factory Automation with SCADA, and so on. Besides, throughout my
engineering studies, I havedeveloped a keen interest in automation processes
with the help of sensors, digital signal processing, and control systems. That
fascination fueled projects like "Arduino based infrared proximity sensor
design" and "Microcontroller based RPM reader of any moving object."During
my Industrial Placement, through their practical seminars, such as Distributed
Control System (DCS), Process Plant Instrumentation & Control System
Demonstration, and Factory Automation with SCADA, I learned a lot about
automation. This made me realize that collaboration between computer science
and Electrical Engineering can provide the abilities needed to drive the
development, testing, and manufacturing processes which can be beneficiary for
achieving my future goal. To meet my long-term carrier success, this subject
will be a milestone if I have a chance to complete it properly.

Future prospect: Bangladesh has recently started a Nuclear Power Plant

project in Pabna city where the VVER-1200/523 Nuclear reactor and critical
infrastructure are being built by the Russian Rosatom State Atomic Energy
Corporation. As well, it will be done by a joint venture between Bangladesh-
based MAX Group and the India-based Hindustan Construction Company. It
indicates a promising future for electricity generation in the upcoming time in
Bangladesh. The Nuclear Power Plant could be the only feasible solution to the
ever-growing demand for electricity in Bangladesh. But the power plant comes
with its unique challenges, among the challenges, automation is one of the
biggest for Bangladesh right now, and the government is desperately searching
for a solution to its problem. They are recruiting engineers from abroad, who
have got expertise in automation and Computer electronics, due to the lack of
skilled automation engineers in our country. That’s whywhen I return to
Bangladesh after finishing my master's degree, I will have an edge over other
applicants in the Automation & Computer Electronics field because anECE
(Electrical and Computer Engineering) degree is highly valued in Bangladesh
when recruiting engineers. I will be optimistic about joining “Rooppur Nuclear
Power Plant” as an automation engineer after finishing my studies in
CANADA.
Also, I have another thinking in my mind to join any public university as a
faculty memberas my academic record is perfectly fit for a teacher’s expertise.

Funding: My parents' savings will cover both my tuition and living expenses
during my time in Canada. My father is a Government employee who works for
the Roads and Highways Department in Bangladesh. As a result, not only that
he receives benefits, GP funds, and a predetermined salary, but also he has a
saving account in his name, and will receive a hefty pension when he quits his
job. Additionally, my mother is a working woman who has occupied a huge
dairy firm in our rural area. We receive a substantial profit from this dairy firm
every year. Moreover, she also has three active savings accounts in her
name.We also have other remittance options because some of my relatives live
in other nations.
Travel history:I am a person who enjoys exploring different places. I've
already visited numerous places in this short time, including an international trip
to INDIA to see several lovely sights. Touring is one type of pleasure for me
that helps introduce me to new flavors that I've never encountered or heard of it
before, and it always amazes me.
Family tie: After completing my studies in Canada I have to come back to my
home country as soon as possible. In view of the fact that my parents are
reaching the last stage of their life. During that crucial time, I am the only hope
for them to take care of everything. Also, my father has a heart problem and my
mother feels sick all the time as she is weak from a physical perspective. For the
medical conditions of my parents, they always seek a person who will be
standing beside them in a hard time. Not only that but also, I have two sisters
who are still in the educational stage where they need my guidance to shine in
their life. Furthermore, my sister’s marriages have to be done when I will be
back in my motherland. In a nutshell, to complete my family duties and
establish myself in a better position in this society, I will come again to my
beloved country.
Conclusion:
Basing all these issues and explanations I plan to re-submit my application and request you
humbly to grant me study permit. I have family support with finance and inspiration,
excellent language ability, clear goal and strong determination to study in Canada. I have
enough family ties in Bangladesh and future prospect of employment in Bangladesh and once
I complete my study I will return to my home country.
Yours faithfully,

………………………..
