III. Color the layers of Earth by making your color key next to the diagram. Match the
correct description of the layer of the earth by using the same colors you use in the diagram.
For example, if you use yellow to color the inner core in the diagram you must use yellow
also in the description of the inner core below.

Directions: Make a terrarium that has all parts of the Earth’s systems and
another one that has no hydrosphere.
Activity modified from https://science.nasa.gov/earth-system-bottle
Materials needed: cutter, 2 L or 1.5 L plastic bottle, cutter, tape, 5 seeds of mongo (if not
available you can use pechay seeds or string beans seeds), water, soil
Procedure:
1. Cut the plastic bottle into two using a cutter. Be careful in cutting.
2. Put three cups of soil in the bottom part of the terrarium.
3. Water the soil and make sure that all of the
soil gets wet. Plant the seeds in the soil.
4. Insert the upper part of the bottle on top and
make sure it fits securely. Make sure the lip/top is still on the bottle.
5. Tape the top and bottom sections together to make an airtight seal.

6. Make another terrarium. Follow the planting procedures above but remove water. Make
sure that the soil use is dried.
7. Label the terrarium and place it where there is enough sun. Observe what will happen to
the seeds for three weeks.
Note: Take five photos while doing the activity and send it to your Class Group Chat.
Guide Questions:
1. What do plants need to live? (2 points)
