SOCIAL SCIENCE(QUARTER 2-WEEK 3)

I. Introductory Concept

Social Sciences is an emerging discipline for the last centuries and gained
widespread attention in the last decades. It is focused on offering solution to the
problems of our present society. This lesson will go into the functions of Social
Sciences as Applied in the Social Setting.in areas of Counselling, Social Work and
Communication.

II. Learning Skills from the MELC

At the end of the learning activities, you are expected to explain each of the
functions of Applied Social Sciences, hence the following skills are expected to be
exhibited:

1. Demonstrate understanding of the functions of Social Sciences.


2. Identify areas by which social sciences function.
3. Illustrate how social sciences functions in a given context.
4. Explain the importance of social sciences as it functions in various life
situations.

Activity No. 1: Complete the Concept Map by supplying the functions of Social
Sciences. Using the following clues/descriptions below, identify the functions and
write it in the appropriate ringlet of the map.
