    Dear Mr. Bernal,
    I am very concerned about the last email I received from you, whereby you stated that you would only hold the March 17th meeting with GL Hunt regarding the destabilization of my
    home if I agreed not to attend. You asked for my foreman’s email and contact information so that you and GL Hunt can manage all communication with my contractor while leaving me in
    the dark. I’m afraid that is unacceptable.
    First, as you may already be aware, I am completing a major book project exposing public corruption in San Antonio. As I have explained to several DSD staff members and leadership,
    I continue to be the target of persistent hacking, invasion of privacy and other crimes because of the project. As my ability to thwart attacks on my network and devices has increased,
    perpetrators have resorted to hacking the devices and accounts of my associates and relatives. These poor folks do not have the expertise or systems to defend against these attacks. To
    limit my contacts’ exposure, I have implemented a number of security protocols that seem to be working well. I see no legitimate reason to risk his security by providing his email and
    contact number with you and GL Hunt.
    Second, by law this is a public meeting. Any interested citizen may attend. That includes the homeowner. GL Hunt’s misconduct at my home is well documented – and I provided DSD
    ample evidence in order to ensure oversight of the issue. Why in the world would you agree to exclude me from a process that I initiated?
    Third, my foreman is not tech savvy and does not have any working knowledge of remote communications such as WebEx. I have already contracted with him to attend the meeting
    scheduled for at 8 a.m. on March 17th. You will have to send the meeting information to me in order for me to set him up and prepare him for the online meeting.
    Please continue to treat me as your principal contact. I’ll make sure Mr. Pearson has all the information he needs to represent my interests at the meeting. Please be clear: I fully
    intend to observe the entire proceeding. If you cancel it because I insist on being privy to discussions about my house, that will say a lot about you, the Strike Team, and the Development
    Services Department. I have spoken at length with top DSD leadership and I just cannot imagine excluding me from a meeting about my own house would be something that the City of
    San Antonio would tolerate.
    Please send the login information and I will make sure my foreman attends the meeting. Also, what is the purpose of the meeting? What are the objectives? Please send me a copy of
    the agenda ASAP so that I can adequately prepare my foreman.
