The document provides instructions and patterns for making different amigurumi characters like gnomes and mushrooms. It recommends using small crochet hooks and tightly wound yarn to prevent stuffing from showing. Basic amigurumi assembly techniques like magic rings and continuous spirals without joining are also described.

The document recommends using small crochet hooks smaller than usual for tight gauges. Yarns like cotton with a high wraps per inch are suggested. Materials also include stuffing, pink powder for cheeks, and embroidery floss for details.

Techniques described include starting with magic rings instead of slip knots to prevent holes, working in continuous spirals without joining rounds, using stitch markers, carefully shaping and placing stuffing, and spending time on faces with embroidery.

Braids Good old gnome

Place braids above the arms directly under
the hat.

Cut about 30 cm (12 inches) length of brown

yarn and fold it in half. Stick the crochet hook
in one hole and out another on the head
(around a stitch). Grab the yarn with the hook
and pull a small loop of the yarn through.
Keeping the hook in the loop, hook the two
sections of yarn and pull another loop
through the first (like you are making a
crochet chain with 2 yarns).
Ch 5 (or repeat until the braids are the length
you like). Pull tightly to end and cut yarn to
desired length. Tie a small ribbon of orange
yarn around each braid.

− yarn/wool in skin color, green, brown,
red, white, black
− craft eyes (I used 5.0 mm black plastic

− embroidery floss (or yarn) in red, white

diameter as the base)
