Uses
New generation cracking agent, combination of high performing surfactants and special
dispersing/complexing components

Extremely versatile, low foaming and phosphorus free agent for cracking of foreign substances
and impurities on cellulosic fibres and their blends with synthetics in continuous and semi-
continuous applications

Specific gravity at 20 °C: About 1

Physical form: Clear liquid

Storage stability: INVATEX MD is stable for 1 year when properly


stored in closed containers at 20 C. The product
is sensitive to temperatures below 0 C and
above 40 C.

Stability to alkali: 90 g/l NaOH 100 %

Stability to acids: 20 ml/l H 2SO4 conc.

Enzymatic Cracking for starch containing textile goods


Pad Batch Enzymatic Cracking (Pad Batch EC)

2-6 ml/l Ciba® TINOZYM® AL or ADC


3-6 ml/l Ciba® INVATEX ® MD

Liquor pick-up: as close as possible to 100 %


Impregnation cold - 60 °C for TINOZYM AL
temperature: cold - 90 °C for TINOZYM ADC
Batching time: 4 - 24 h
Hot wash off

Pad Steam Enzymatic Cracking (Pad Steam EC)

Temperature: 100 °C, saturated steam
Washing off: as hot as possible

The lower product amounts are valid for PES/CO blends.

Silicate free Pad Batch Cold Peroxide Bleach (Pad Batch CPB)
Cotton, linen, other bast fibers and their blends with synthetic fibers

6 - 10 ml/kg Ciba® TINOCLARITE® CBB


25 - 35 g/kg NaOH 100 %
6 - 10 ml/kg Ciba® INVATEX ® MD
40 - 60 ml/kg hydrogen peroxide 35 %
0-5 g/kg persulphate (preferably sodium persulphate)

Bath temperature: 20 - 35 °C
Liquor pick-up: 90 - 100 %
Batching time: 16 - 24 h

Aftertreatment, if no Pad Steam or Underliquor treatment follows:

Continuous boiling in washing machines or immersion cloth accumulators


The following treatment has proved effective for high, uniform absorbency and improved
removal of sizes:

Sharpen the first few baths of the washing machine or immersion cloth accumulator with:

6 - 10 g/l NaOH 100 %


3-5 ml/l Ciba® INVATEX ® MD

Reaction time: open-width wasching machine: 30 - 60 s


immersion cloth accumulator: about 5 min
Temperature: 90 - 95 °C
Water flow: separate low water throughput of 1 - 3 l water/kg goods

Separate higher water flow for hot washing off with water only on the remaining washing
compartments
With this procedure, there is no need for additional continuous chemical feed.

Cotton, linen, other bast fibers and their blends with synthetic fibers

8 - 15 g/kg NaOH 100 %
6 - 10 ml/kg Ciba® INVATEX ® MD
6 - 12 ml/kg sodium silicate 38°Bé (72° Tw)
40 - 60 ml/kg hydrogen peroxide 35 %
0-5 g/kg persulphate (preferably sodium
persulphate)

Bath temperature: 20 - 35 °C
Liquor pick-up: 90 - 100 %
Batching time: 16 - 24 h
Hot washing off

A subsequent Pad Steam or Underliquor treatment is recommended for woven goods.

Pad Batch Cold Oxidative Cracking (Pad Batch COC) on cellulosic fibers and their blends with
synthetics

4-6 ml/kg Ciba® TINOCLARITE® CBB


30 - 40 g/kg NaOH 100 %
6 - 10 ml/kg Ciba® INVATEX ® MD
20 - 40 ml/kg hydrogen peroxide 35 %
3-6 g/kg persulphate (preferably sodium
persulphate)

Bath temperature: 20 - 35 °C
Liquor pick-up: 90 - 100 %
Batching time: 6 - 24 h
Hot washing off

To obtain best degrees of whiteness a subsequent Pad Steam Peroxide Bleach is recommended.

Combination method with good handle retention for simultaneous desizing, bleaching, and
causticizing of viscose piece goods
