Detailed Lesson Plan in MAPEH 5

HEALTH
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:
a. differentiate emotional, mental and social health;
b. cite the importance of staying healthy;
c. make a poster from the topic: fear of being alone, fear of speaking in
class or school activities that make children happy.

Before we start our lesson I
would like to ask you a question.

In your age class, are you left


alone at home? Yes teacher.
What are the things you usually
do if you’re alone at home? (answer depends on the children)

health.

Please read the definition of Emotional health is an important part of


emotional health children. overall health. The person who is
emotionally healthy is in control of their
thoughts, feelings and behavior.

If you are emotionally healthy


you are aware about your
emotions, but even though you
are emotionally healthy you’re
still feel anger, fear and sadness.

As a child it is important to
develop your emotional health
by:
1. Doing simple exercise
2. Eat balanced diet regularly.
3. Expressing your feelings and
thoughts.
4. Watch or do something
funny.

Let’s proceed to our mental health.


Please read. Mental health refers to a sound state of
mind that allows a person to face and
accept reality.
If we are mentally healthy we will
remain positive even if we face
challenges.
How can we become positive in spite of
our problem we are facing?
1. Set our goals.
2. Accept and face challenges.
3. Keep your mind active and learn
new things.
4. Be sociable.
5. Listen and follow advices from
the elders, parents or teachers. Yes teacher.

Social health is having the ability to


form healthy relationship with other.
In our social health. There is this
problem some of us experiencing, this is
what we called social anxiety or social
phobia.

many people.
- Afraid of being the center of
attention.
- Afraid to interact with others.

things to help us develop our
