Cleaning Method
2-Propylheptanol is either not soluble or only partially soluble or miscible in water. However it should be able to be cleaned using water only. Water washing will displace the
product remaining in the tank, pump and pipelines.
Cleaning Steps

Description Time Temperature Notes

1:Machine Wash Sea Water 1.5 Hours Ambient Water temp at least 10°C above the melting point of the cargo.

2:Machine Wash Sea Water 1.5-2.0 Hours 40-60

3:Fresh Water Rinse 0.3-0.5 Hours Ensure all tank surfaces are rinsed.

4:Gasfree

5:Eject and Mop Dry

6:Inspect and check wallwash results to determine


if further cleaning is required
Note: The TIME indicated above is based on cleaning to a water white standard in a 1000 m3 tank with fixed tank cleaning machines with complete tank coverage.
