Cisco Unified Communications Manager / Unified

Communications Manager IM and Presence Service

Cleanup Common Space COP file v1.7

Release Notes Version 1

October 27, 2021

Problem Definition
When upgrading from an older version of Unified Communications Manager or
Unified Communications Manager IM and Presence Service to Release 9.1(x)
or later, the system runs out of disk space in the common partition.

NOTE: This COP file is signed with the sha512 checksum. Older versions of
CUCM and IM&P do not natively have support for sha512. If you are trying
to install the file and it does not appear in the available files list,
you will need to install the ciscocm.enable-sha512sum-2021-signing-key-
v1.0.cop.sgn in order to enable sha512 checksum support.

Note: Before you run this Cisco Options Package (COP) file, Cisco
recommends that you review the Important Notes section for information
about issues that may affect your system.

Installation Procedure
Filename: ciscocm.free_common_space_v1.7.k4.cop.sha512
MD5 Checksum: 5a6a64e3db316dd69c6ceeafcf95d857

Important Note: You must install the patch during a maintenance window
because the installation during normal business hours may temporarily
impact the system performance. Ensure that you install the patch when
there is no other CLI or GUI activity on the system because the patch
will terminate all CLI and GUI sessions and restart the Tomcat service.

Important Note: This COP file does not install anything on the node. It
just runs a script that removes the inactive side in the common partition
to free up the disk space so that upgrade is successfully completed. You
will not be able to switch back to the inactive version after installing
this patch.

Important Note: This COP file is signed with RSA V3 keys. If your product
does not support RSA V3 keys, you may have to install ciscocm.version3-
keys.cop.sgn first before installing this patch.

Important Note: The installation of this COP file does not guarantee
that the subsequent upgrades will be successful. You will need to compare
the free space with needed space for upgrade which is there in the
upgrade logs after the cop file installation.

Important Note: This COP file will delete the logs and traces from most
components occupying space in the active partition.
