*EN 10 025 S355JR/JO is comes under "structural steel" categories.
Equivalent standard is-ASTM A 572 Gr 50.

-Above are “Higher strength micro-alloyed steel".

-The above-mentioned structural steel grades may be welded using any of the standard metal arc
and resistance welding processes, usually without any special precautions. However, when
welding heavy sections, BS 5135:1984 "Metal-arc welding of carbon and carbon manganese
steels" should be consulted to determine preheat requirements at low heat inputs.

-For improved atmospheric corrosion resistance, COR-TEN® A2 should be used.

In my opinion COR-TEN® A2 is the best weathering steel.
[Weathering steel, best-known under the trademark COR-TEN steel, is a group of steel alloys
which were developed to obviate the need for painting, and form a stable rust-like appearance if
exposed to the weather for several years.

The original Cor-Ten received the standard designation A 242 ("Cor-Ten A") from the ASTM
International standards group. Newer ASTM grades are A 588 ("Cor-Ten B") and A 606 for thin
sheet. All alloys are in common production and use.
