……………………………………………………………………………………………….. [3]

When a student runs a race, their body needs energy which cannot be provided by aerobic
respiration as enough oxygen cannot be taken in so the body switches over to anaerobic
respiration that takes place in the absence of oxygen which produces a toxic substance. Once
the student stops the race, the student needs oxygen to break down the toxic substance
produced during anaerobic respiration. So the students breathes quickly and takes deep
breaths.
