SEC. 308. INSPECTION & SUPERVISON OF WORK
1.Owner Shall engage the services of duly licensed architect or civil engineer to undertake
the full time & supervision of the construction.
2.May not be the same architect /civil engineer who design

4.Logbook- records the actual progress of construction
5.Licensed Architect /Engineer submit Logbook to BO, upon completion of the
construction together with certificate of completion stating that the Bldg. conform the

SEC. 309. CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
1.Notification to Conduct Final Inspection Endorsed by the OBO to C/MFM

RULE V- REQUIREMENTS OF FIRE ZONES
SEC.501. FIRE ZONE DEFINED
Areas which only certain types of buildings are permitted to be constructed based on their use /
occupancy, type of constructions & resistance
SEC.502.BUILDING LOCATED IN MORE THAN ONE FIRE ZONE
Shall be considered to be in the more highly restrictive fire zone, when more than 1/3 of its total floor
areas is located in such zone
SEC.503. MOVED BUILDINGS
1. Made to comply with all the requirements in that fire zone
2. Apply to pre-engineered / pre-fabricated buildings that may be dismantled& reassembled.
SEC.504. TEMPORARY BUILDINGS/STRUCTURES
1. May be erected in the fire zone by Special Permit from the building Official for limited period of time
& Completely removed upon the expiration of the time limit stated in such permit.
2. Located in highly restrictive zones do not conform with the type of construction may be allowed,
provided that, fire protective measures & fire suppression facilities are adequate.
SEC.505. CENTER LINES OF STREETS
May be considered an adjacent property line.
Measured at right angles to the street / alley.
SEC.506. RESTRICTIONS ON EXISTING BUILDING
1.Existing Building in fire zones that do not comply with the requirements for a new building
erected therein shall not hereafter be enlarged, altered, remodeled, repaired / moved
except as follows:
a. Entirely demolished
b. To be moved outside or to a zone that meets the minimum standards
c. Changes, alteration & repair may be provided in 12 months period, does not exceed
20% of the value of existing building & do not add additional combustible material.
d. Additions are separated by firewalls
e. Damage (fire/earthquake, typhoons/fortuitous event) may be repaired, using same
kind of materials & do not exceed 20 % of cost of replacement
SEC.507. DESIGNATION OF FIRE ZONES
a) Non-fire Restricted Zones: located in rural areas, clustered in small groups (indigenous
materials): TYPE I & II Construction
b) Fire Restrictive Zones: located in Sub-Urban areas: 1-hr. fire-resistivity throughout: TYPE
II-IV Construction, Exterior Walls: 2 hrs.- fire resistivity
c) Highly Restrictive Zones: Highly fire-resistive / non- combustible buildings:3-4-hour Fire-
resistive construction materials including exterior walls: TYPE IV-V constructions permitted.

SEC.604.FIRE-RESISTIVE REGULATION
Secretary shall prescribe standards & promulgate rules & regulations on the testing of
construction materials for flamed-spread characteristics, test on fire damages, fire tests &
etc.
