Retest: While carrying out RT on sampling basis,If any test specimen is unsatisfactory, two
further weld specimen for retest shall be selected from the production welds and subjected to
tests
Preheat and Post Weld Heat Treatment (S.R.) Temperatures ( as per IBR )

Note:
1. For combination of materials, Preheat & SR requirements of higher material will govern.
2. Rate of Heating above 400*C shall not exceed 220*C per hour & Rate of cooling upto
400*C shall be controlled at a rate not exceeding 110*C per hour.
3. A minimum of 2 thermocouples shall be used to record the temperature, with one placed
on the weld & the other on HAZ
4. For a combination of different thicknesses, thickness of the thicker material will govern
for soaking time.
