Processing Questions

1. How do you describe your feelings and thoughts about respect and discrimination, and why?

In terms of respect, it made me feel welcomed while also making me joyful and confident.
Discrimination impacts me because I am an insecure person.

2. When do you know if respect is being shown? If there is discrimination? Cite some indicators.

Respect signifies accepting someone for who they are, even if they are unlike you or with whom you
disagree. Respect fosters feelings of trust, security, and well-being in your relationships. Respect is
something that can be taught rather than something that is innate. You are engaged in discrimination
when you are harassed or intimidated, or when you are provided services or treatment that appears to
be unfair.

3. Is it possible to replace discrimination with respect? How?

Discrimination may be replaced with respect if people focus on the inside rather than the outside of
others. There is no other way to prevent discrimination if you cannot command respect. You don't have
to convince them to respect you; simply show them that you deserve it. Remember that actions speak
louder than words. Words or ranting will never help you overcome discrimination; what is important is
how you handle the issue.

What I have learned

1. What are your experiences of showing respect to people like your family, friends, and
classmates?

The experience of expressing respect to my friends, family, and classmates was supporting their
decisions or thoughts regarding anything.

2. How do you keep harmony with others especially during this time of pandemic?

I feel that we may maintain our mutual peace by continuing to interact with them through social
media platforms, such as staying in touch with them even when we are in the thick of a
pandemic and seldom see each other.

3. How did the pandemic affect the way you treat people? How do you interact with other people?
They affected how I connect with others because everything is now done online, before we
could only communicate in person formerly. I interact with people who are always seeking for
someone to talk to or who have a question because I am the sort of person who will lend an ear
or listen to them if they need it, and I will not make it difficult for them to communicate with
me.
