GRADED ASSESSMENT FINALS

LHC1106 – Sec 1

Labor Relations and Negotiations

Activity : Be a Judge for the Day.

This activity is both for MOL and IS. For the IS you will be requested to present as well (please
coordinate with your faculty for the schedule of your presentation)

Date of Presentation: The presentation will start on November 24, 2021 (Wednesday)

Objectives:

1. Identify the specific principles or concepts applied in the assigned case by the court.
2. Apply specific principles involving individual rights and labor concepts and jurisprudence while
writing dissenting opinion.
3. Develop analytical thinking skills while addressing the issue/s involved in the assigned case.
4. Develop persuasive communication skills (both oral and writing) with the penned dissenting
opinion.

Directions:

1. Each student will be assigned a case. Please refer to the list below.
2. Digest the case assigned to you. Your case digest will include FACTS, ISSUE and RULING.
3. Identify the labor law principle, principle, jurisprudence used as a basis of the court in justifying
their decision.
4. THE TWIST: PEN YOUR OWN DECISION (DISSENTING OPINION) regrading the ruling of the Court.
Provide the principle/concept you used as basis for your judgment. You may also use other
jurisprudence for your basis.
5. Give your insights regarding the case assigned to you.
a. Do you agree with the decision of the Court? Give an explanation why you concur or
dissent.)
b. Realization with regards to the specific case.
6. Present your output in class. You may use PowerPoint slides but only the basics should be in the
slides. (Brief and concise facts, just an outline or guide for the whole presentation).
7. During the Presentation, you are requested to open your Camera. Try to engage your audience
during the presentation.
