Prof. Chan is the current President of Malaysian Endocrine and Metabolic Society (MEMS), President of
Malaysian Osteoporosis Society, and a member of the Academy of Medicine, Malaysian Endocrine and
Metabolic Society (MEMS) USA.
She was also the Chairperson for the 5th Clinical Practice Guideline of Management of T2DM, Chairperson
at A Practical Guide for the Pharmacological Management of T2DM across the CV Continuum (2019),
Co-Chairperson for 4th Clinical Guidance on Management of Osteoporosis Taskforce (2012 and Revision
2015); and Organising Chairperson at Annual Scientific Meeting of Malaysian Osteoporosis Society 2018,
Scientific Committee Chairperson at the 5th Scientific Meeting of Asian Federation of Osteoporosis

Program Overview
Dr. Roy is an Internal Medicine Specialist. He completed his medical studies at the University of
Indonesia and Endocrinology Course at Harvard Medical School. Now, he practices at Azra Hospital,
Bogor, and Mayapada Kuningan Hospital, Jakarta.
Dr. Roy is the fellow of The Endocrine Society, Founder of Jakarta Insulin Pump Education Center &
Sugascoper, Founder of meetMED—Interactive Medical Podcast, Founder of Kitiran Aras
Kembang—The Foundation, Medical Advisor at AIDO Health, and Chairman at International Liaison
Department—Indonesian Society of Endocrinology.
Dr. Roy has many publications and research to his name, the latest one being A Preliminary Clinical
Trial to Evaluate the Reduction of Glucose Fluctuation in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes After the
Administration of Diabetes-Specific Formula as a Meal Replacement.

Program Overview
Prof. Chaicharn is President of Endocrine Society of Thailand, President of Thai Atherosclerosis Society,
Scientific Chairman of Thai Diabetes Association Society, and Secretary and Committee of Thai Society of
Obesity.
He is also a member of various societies, including the European Association for the study of Diabetes
(EASD), the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), and the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
He was the Scientific Chairman of the 6th IDF WPR Congress in Bangkok 2005, 15th ASEAN Federation
of Endocrine Societies in 2009, and 8th Asia Pacific Society of Atherosclerosis and Vascular Disease
(APSAVD) in Phuket 2012.
Prof. Chaicharn undertook his clinical and research training in diabetes and endocrinology at the University
of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom.
In 1992, he received a grant fellowship of Diabetes and Endocrinology in the UK by British Council, and in
1996, he received ‘Distinguished Research Award’ from The Endocrine Society of Thailand.
His scientific interests lie in both clinical and research particularly in the field of diabetes, obesity, and
dyslipidemia. As an active lecturer, he is regularly a distinguished speaker of The Royal College of
Physician of Thailand and the ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Society.
Prof. Chaicharn has presented at numerous meetings both local and international and contributed to many
publications, including over 100 scientific articles and textbooks.

Dr. Elizabeth did her Endocrine Fellowship training at the UP-PGH, Joslin Diabetes Center, Harvard Medical
School in Boston, Massachusetts, and at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York City.
She is Editor-in–Chief of, Journal of the ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Societies (JAFES) and has served
the position of Past President, Philippine Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
She was awarded the Most Outstanding Researcher by the UP Medical Alumni Society, December 2016;
the Most Distinguished Researcher by the Philippine College of Physicians for 2008–2009; the Faculty
Centennial Grant by the University of the Philippines, June 2009; and the Andres Cuyegkeng Professorial
Chair of the University of the Philippines Manila in 2014 for exemplary training, service, and teaching
performance.
Her original researches, funded by the International Diabetes Federation BRIDGES, the Philippine Council
for Health R&D, and the University of the Philippines, apply to diabetes education, prevention, and
management. Her collaborations include research on the genetics of diabetes. She is the principal
investigator in major international drug trials. She is a Faculty and Committee Member of the Molecular
Diabetes in Asia (MDIA) founded for the Asian region. She initiated and mentored researches at the
Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism to encourage fellows and young graduates, and in
national specialty organizations: Philippine Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism; Philippine
Association for the Study of Overweight and Obesity; and Philippine Lipid and Atherosclerosis Society.

Dr. Kevin is currently Vice President of Diabetes Singapore and a life member of the Society, as well as
with the Endocrine and Metabolic Society of Singapore. In the Diabetic Society, he heads the Education
Sub-Committee and has been at the helm of the organizing committee of World Diabetes Day Singapore
events for the past 7 years.
Dr. Kevin graduated from the National University of Singapore and is a fellow with both the Royal College
of Physicians in Edinburgh and the Academy of Medicine in Singapore.
Dr. Kevin is a member of the American of Medicine Singapore (Endocrinology) and Royal College of
Physicians (UK). He is a fellow of Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh), Royal College of Physicians
(Edinburgh, UK) 2001, and Academy Medicine of Singapore (Endocrinology) 1998.
He is a keen diabetes educator and active on the lecture circuit to both professional and public audiences
locally and in the region, lecturing extensively on diabetes, thyroid problems, and other hormone issues.
His interest is in diabetes and pituitary–adrenal disorders, and his research interest is in clinical trials on
diabetes.

Dr. Ibrar Ahmed is an FCPS (ENDOCRINOLOGY & Medicine), currently serving as Divisional Head of
an Endocrinology Unit in a Medical Teaching Institute named Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar,
Pakistan.
Dr. Ahmed is the President of Pakistan Endocrine Society (PES). He was the President Elect in 2019
while he was elected twice as Vice President of PES (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Region) in the previous
years. He is also an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist.
Dr. Ahmed has an extensive experience of more than 20 years in academics and administrative
services of Pakistan and has shown to have special interest in diabetes, thyroid, and adrenal hormone,
while his area of concentration in the clinical trials is diabetes mellitus.
Dr. Ahmed is a member of the Review Committee of Journal of Postgraduate Medical Institute (JPMI)
LRH, a member of the Peer Review Committee of Khyber Medical University Journal (KMUJ), and a
member of the Review Committee of Journal of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan
(JCPSP).
Dr. Ahmed has 12 papers published in various Journals and Management of Acromegaly,
Pheochromocytoma, Diabetes Mellitus, Workshop on Hyperlipidemia at the Annual PES Multan, and
Workshop on Thyroid Evaluation at Annual PES Karachi.

Program Overview
Prof. Tran Huu Dang is President at Vietnam Association of Diabetes and Endocrinology (VADE)
(2019–2023), President at Thua Thien Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations (2018–2023).
He graduated from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy as an MD in 1978, practiced residency in
France in 1990–1991 and 1994, received Ph.D. from Hanoi Medical University in 1996, and was honored
as Professor in Medicine in 2011. In early 2021, Vietnam Government honored him as People’s Teacher.
He was Vice President of VADE, Vice President of Thua Thien Hue Association of Diabetes and
Endocrinology, Deputy Head of Department of General Medicine and Geriatrics at Hue National Hospital,
and Vice Dean (in charge of Science–Technology–International Collaboration) at Hue University of Medicine
and Pharmacy.
Prof. Tran Huu Dang successfully guided dozens of theses and specialized topics for postgraduates and
second-level specialists, and chaired more than 14 university-level, 5 state-level, and 1 national-level
scientific research. He is author or co-author of about 20 textbooks or curricula and over 200 articles in
internal medicine, endocrinology–diabetes–metabolism, family medicine, and proactive learning methods.
He has been serving as chairman and speaker in many international congresses and experience exchange
sessions in USA, Australia, France, China, Malaysia, Singapore, etc.

Dr. Goh is Senior Consultant of the Department of Endocrinology at SGH. She holds concurrent posts
as Clinical Senior Lecturer at NUS, Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS, Core Faculty in
SingHealth Senior Residency (Endocrinology), and MOH Residency Advisory Committee.
Dr. Goh was the lead discussant for the Appropriate Care Guides on ‘Oral pharmacotherapy for type
2 diabetes’ and ‘Basal insulin therapy in type 2 diabetes’ from the ACE MOH and contributed to the
other diabetes-related ACGs.
She is actively involved in diabetes clinical trials, including leading the Singapore team in
CVD-REAL2, a landmark multinational RWE study in diabetes and cardiovascular outcomes.
