1. Why is first aid important during emergency cases?

It is essential to know first aid during an emergency since it allows you to enhance patient
comfort. Not all accidents, injuries, or diseases necessitate a trip to the hospital, but that doesn't mean
they don't cause the patient agony and suffering. You may assist reduce their suffering by
understanding how to respond - even if it's as basic as appropriately applying an ice pack or using
adequate bandaging. It provides you with skills to help you avoid escalation of the issue. You can
stabilize a patient until emergency medical services come if you can offer basic treatment. It teaches
faith in one's ability to care. Having basic first aid knowledge means you'll be confident in your
talents and abilities when it comes to administering first aid. Taking first aid training allows you to
reflect on yourself and how you and others respond in different situations. It promotes healthy and
secure life. One of the first things you will learn throughout your first aid training is the importance
of looking after yourself and prioritizing your own safety. It's not selfishness; it's common sense.
Keeping oneself safe implies that you are in a position to assist others rather than needing assistance
yourself.

2. If you are the first aider, give at least 5 desirable characteristics you must possess. Explain each.
We all contemplate how we would behave in an emergency, and we all hope that we would
risk our lives to save someone who was in danger. For individuals in need of assistance or rescue,
the attributes of a first responder might be the difference between life and death. The following are
the 5 desirable characteristic a first aider must possess.

Charitable- In a crisis, it is difficult to predict who will step up and who will remain silent.
When there is a huge crowd gathered around a situation, it is less probable that an individual
would move forward. It requires selflessness to be the person who disregards the danger of
injury or material loss and yet steps in to assist.

Vigilance- A first responder must be able to analyze a situation rapidly and determine the
possible hazards to themselves and the victim. For example, if a hazard offers a substantial
risk, they should assess if approaching the victim is the best course of action.

Resilient- A person who thinks that a positive outcome is possible, no matter what obstacles
lay ahead, is considerably more likely to come to a person's help in what appears to be a
terrible circumstance. These people also have a strong conviction in their abilities to face
problems and overcome obstacles.

Communication Skills- A first responder's ability to speak with a victim and comfort them
in a high-pressure scenario is critical. Calming and encouraging a victim increases their
chances of survival and lowers their danger of heart or organ failure. Communication is also
essential for verbalizing the situation and injuries to emergency personnel, whether in person
or over the phone.

Initiative- In a complicated emergency situation, it needs initiative to analyze the situation

and devise a strategy fast. For example, if the sufferer is stuck under an object in a remote
location, you'll need someone on the scene who can swiftly devise a plan of action that leads
to effective rescue.
