compare and contrast a human somatic cell to a human gamete

 The somatic cell has forty-six 46 chromosomes,

 chromosomes in the somatic cells are haploid

 for the gamete cell, it has twenty-three chromosomes which are diploid, additionally in

gamete cell heir are 23 chromosomes which has two sex

 while for somatic there are forty-six chromosomes and with one sex chromosomes.

2,Name the common components of eukaryotic cell division and binary fission

the common component includes

 DNA duplication

 Segregation of the duplicated chromosomes

 And the division of cytoplasmic contents.

3,what is the evidence for the evolution of eukaryotic cell division

It is believed that eukaryotic cells evolved from organelles in the prokaryotic. Eukaryotes

are usually the cells that are found in animals, plants and the cellular organism and they usually

contain the genetic materials in the nucleus. There are theories that explain the evolution of

eukaryotic cells among them is the endosymbiosis theory. It states that eukaryotes evolved from

prokaryotic whereby those smaller cells that were living in the large prokaryotic they developed

into the mitochondria while those bacteria which were photosynthetic they later become the

chloroplast of the eukaryotic cells.

The evidence
From the record of the fossils looking at the evolution of the eukaryotes, most evidence is

looked at based on the study that is carried out on the present-day cells. From the DNA

sequencing while comparing various bacteria and the chloroplast besides, the mitochondrial

characteristics, it shows that the DNA materials indicate that eukaryotes have a lot of bacteria

genes just like those organelles. Additionally, the chloroplast and the mitochondria present in the

eukaryotes they have single and circular DNA molecules which is the same as the bacteria.

Moreover, for the both they have the electron transport chain which works best by providing

them with the chemical energy. Thus, with that one can connect the evolution of the prokaryotes

using the Endosymbiosis theory.

4, explain the advantage that population of sexually reproducing organism has over

asexually organism

 For the sexual reproduction the two parents are represented for they both contribute the

genetic information thus leading to the production of the unique offspring, unlike the

asexual that leads to offspring being identical to the single parent that is involved.

 Additionally when looking at the transfer of the genetic disease the populations of the

sexual reproduction is less susceptible.

 Leads to a diversified variety of the gene due to an exchange of the DNA.

5,Individuals with trisomy 21 are more likely to survive to adulthood

It is because when analyzing the two, the problems mostly caused by the trisomy happens

because of the genes present in the chromosomes as they appear in three copies they tend to

produce more product than the ones in the chromosomes that appear in two copies. In such case,

the cell is not able to adjust to the amount of the product thus it lacks balance leading to the
occurrence of problems in the maintenance and development of a particular individual. Thus,

knowing that each chromosome is unique in its own way, therefore, the problems with the

survivability may be caused by the number of genes present in the two chromosomes.

In such a case chromosome 21 may appear to be smaller with few unbalanced products of

the gene. Thus, it possible that the chromosome 21 has genes whereby its products are not so

much sensitive to differences in the dosage than those chromosome 18.Therefore ,the genes are

likely to be less involved in various critical pathways besides the differences occurring in

dosages may create less of the differences to such set pathways.
