JOLLIBEE AND MCDONALD’S

Slide 1
Good day! I’m presenting to you the results of my short survey about utilizing two competing popular
fast food chains. I choose Jollibee and McDonald’s. This two is one of the most popular fast food
chains in here Tagum City, Davao del Norte. Jollibee and McDonald's both feature similar menu
options. Fried chicken, spaghetti, hamburgers, and fries are all similar foods. Although they both share
the same menu items, they both have a few that the other does not.

In short history about the Jollibee and McDonald’s:
Jollibee was founded in 1978 in Quezon City, Philippines. It began as a Magnolia ice cream
parlor, but the owner soon realized that this was not going to get him anywhere. As a result,
he expanded the menu to include hot savories, which proved so successful that he changed
his restaurant and renamed it Jollibee.

McDonald's was founded in San Bernardino, California in 1955 by brothers Maurice and
Richard McDonald. McDonald's started off as a tiny burger restaurant. He then offered to
launch a franchise program for the brothers with the support of Ray Kroc. Ray Kroc founded
the McDonald's Corporation in the same year as he opened the first franchise in Des Plaines,
Illinois, and bought out the McDonald Brothers in 1961.

METHODOLOGY
The number of respondents is 49: Total of 49 respondents
Number of questions: 13 questions
Platform that I used was Google Forms

The first question I’ve ask in my 49 respondents was:

Slide 4
The 43 respondents choose the Jollibee and the 6 respondents choose the Mcdonald’s. According to
one of my respondents said that, “Jollibee, because there are more Jollibee restaurants compared to
McDonald's restaurants near my place. Also, in my opinion, most of the Jollibee's foods have greater
flavor than McDonald's food.”

Slide 5
Which do they prefer among the Jolly Chicken Joy or Chicken McDo?

The 42 respondents choose the Jolly Chickenjoy and the remaining 6 choose the Chicken McDo.
According to Mike Chen's YouTube Vlog on Jollibee vs. McDonald's, McDonald's Fried chicken has
a saltier skin, whereas Jollibee Chickenjoy has just the proper amount of actual skin and breading,
making it tastier.

Slide 6
In burger preference, which do they prefer among the Yum Burger and Burger McDo?
The 41 respondents choose Yum burger and the 8 respondents choose Burger McDo. In comparison
to Burger McDo in size, the Yum burger appears to be hunkier, bigger, and heavier. According to the
Caleon Twins' YouTube Vlog on Jollibee vs. McDonald's, the Burger McDo appears to be more
balanced than the Jollibee Yum burger in terms of bun and patty ratio because the Yum burger's bun
is larger than its patties. The Yum burger patty, on the other hand, tastes more like actual beef than
the Burger McDo, which has a grilled flavor.

Next is,

Slide 7
In spaghetti preference, the respondents were chosen between the Jolly Spaghetti and McSpaghetti.

46 respondents choose Jolly Spaghetti and the remaining 3 respondents choose McSpaghetti.
Although the spaghetti from these two fast-food restaurants appears to be identical, a taste test can
determine the difference. According to Mike Chen's YouTube Vlog on Jollibee vs. McDonald's, Jolly
Spaghetti tastes sweeter than McSpaghetti. This is most likely due to the fact that Jollibee originated
in the Philippines and has a "sweet Pinoy style" flavor that appeals to Filipinos. In addition, the
McSpaghetti has a sweet and spicy flavor that is well balanced. In comparison to McSpaghetti, Jolly
Spaghetti has a thicker sauce consistency.

Next is,

Slide 8
In French Fries Preference, the respondents were chosen either Jolly Crispy Fries and McFries.

The 32 respondents choose the Jolly Crispy Fries and the 17 respondents choose the McFries. Fries
are considered undervalued, yet they are vital to consider because they become the restaurants'
unique selling feature for the majority of their consumers. Both Jollibee and McDonald's fries taste
good, according to Mike Chen's YouTube Vlog, however the Caleon Twins' YouTube Vlog explained
the distinctions in their fries. According to them, the Jolly Crispy Fries have just the correct amount of
saltiness, whereas the McDonald's French Fries have more salt, which gives their fries more flavor.
The Caleon Twins also stated that McDonald's Fries are crispier than Jolly Crispy Fries in terms of
crispiness, but to avoid sogginess, consume them right away.

When it comes to pies, 55 people favor Jollibee's Peach Mango Pie to 14 people who like McDonald's
Rich Chocolate Pie. Because of its unique combination of peach and mango, the Jollibee pie is
superior to McDonald's Rich Chocolate Pie.

fluffy and sweet taste of the pancake rather than 12 respondents choose McDonald’s Pancake.

Slide 11
In term of Burger Steak Preference between the Jollibee and McDonald’s, the 35 respondents choose
the Jollibee’s Burger Steak rather than 14 respondents choose the McDonald’s Mushroom Pepper
Steak. Many Filipinos maintain a particular place in their hearts for the classic Jollibee burger steak.
It shines out in its sauce and meat combination, which is exactly how a burger steak should be
consumed. The flavor is more complex and interesting. It employs the same patty as the regular
Jollibee burger steak, which has a characteristic meaty flavor that is clear and simple to eat.

Slide 12
In chicken sandwich preference, 33 respondents choose the Jollibee’s Chicken Sandwich and the
remaining 16 respondents choose the McDonald’s Chicken Sandwich. A crispy, juicy double hand-
breaded chicken breast fillet is slathered with umami mayo and served on a toasted bun in Jollibee's
Chicken Sandwich. The McDonald's Chicken Sandwich, on the other hand, falls short where it counts
the most in terms of flavor.

Slide 13
When it comes in coke float preference, 36 respondents choose Jollibee’s Coke Float and the
remaining 13 respondents choose McFloat. Jollibee's Coke Float is a chocolate-flavored soda and
ice cream combination. To bring all of the tastes together, a generous swirl of sweet chocolate syrup
is drizzled over the vanilla soft-serve rather than McFloat has a refreshingly ice-cold coca-cola drink
topped with creamy vanilla soft serve ice cream.

Slide 14
In terms in Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Pancake Sandwich Preference, 30 respondents choose the
Jollibee's Bacon, Egg & Cheese Pancake Sandwich and the 19 respondents choose McDonald’s.
The Jollibee Pancake Sandwich generated quite a stir in the Philippines' morning scene. Jollibee's
pancakes with bacon, cheese, and egg, all mashed together in the mouth, make for a delightful
morning with all these breakfast delights, comparable to McDonald's.

Slide 15
In terms of sundae the Jollibee’s Sundae has made with creamy vanilla soft serve and smothered in
chocolaty hot fudge topping rather than McDonald’s Sundae.
